GT: Nets vs Lakers 1/30 - 7:30

Post#1 » by Stone » Sun Jan 29, 2023 2:41 pm

The Lakers are coming off a heartbreaking losing in Boston. The refs blew a call in the last seconds of regulation that showed Tatum clearly fouled LeBron. It went into OT and right off the bat Beverly got hit with T before the jump, they lost momentum and took a loss.

I fully expect them to be looking for any sort of payback. We might be in the wrong spot at the wrong time but we have to defend the home court and fight this one out for 48 minutes.

Oh yeah and AD is back.

Timing couldn’t be worse , this is hungry , angry , healthy Lakers fighting for play in spot against short handed Nets

Wtf is again with Simmons? Back , knees , mental ? I was patient with him but it starting to look that it’s not gonna work , unless he starts attacking the basket and actually play in games

Lakers are looking good right now. And we have the Celtics after this.

Thats why you don't blow the Pistons/Spurs/OKC games.

Huge break. We better find a way to beat Westbrick and these bums at home.

We looked better without him yesterday.

I'm out on Ben til i see some changes from him. I know he's not 100% right but he can still do more than this crap we're seeing.

Love the defense, rebounding and passing but he doesn't want to remotely look to attack on offense. It hurts the team

thank goodness we don't gotta deal with the stars. Last time we played AD was a handful by himself. We BETTER not lose this one period. We got alot of tough games heading into the break so we need to rack up all the wins we can.

No, he was extremely aggressive in the 2nd half against Philly but apparently scoring is allergic to his knees. That 12 points was like scoring 81 for him.

The refs are as embarrassing as ever, maybe even moreso. Not just because they cost the Lakers and a few other teams legit wins via terrible calls & non-calls, but because of how unbelievable petty and vindictive they are if you don't suck up to them. And like bad cops, too many refs simply can't handle being called out for screwing up.

As usual, it's mainly the paying fans who are getting shafted, end of the day.

At this point, we are going to be a 4 seed. Not sure who we hope slides to 1. I think we can take the Cavs in 6 games but I would rather face the Sixers/Bucks than the Celtics early. If we can see Boston in the ECF, I would like our chances better.

We shouldn't think that way.

We are only 2.5 games back of a 2 or 3 seed.

That should be our goal. With KD back we can go back to winning a lot more.

Plenty of season left. Nets have a friendly stretch last month of the season. Can go on a run with a healthy roster

No excuses not to win this one with LBJ and AD out, but being as we are we are capable of losing to anybody.

We still need an influx of talent to be a legit contender, right now we are Kyrie and Clax and a bunch of bodies. Now those bodies will do when our big 3 (7/11/33) are firing but with our luck, I'd rather have a functional backup plan.

What I am loving most so far is we didn't spiral into oblivion like last season. Hopefully we can get this last week out and KD is back soon. I am still not thrilled with Marks not having made a move yet; he loves to play chess a lot and waits until the last second. Make no mistake, thus far, we are losing the Harden/Simmons trade. Harden has regained some of his form and is a deadly scorer next to Embiid. Perhpaps Simmons can regain form by season's end and Nets win it all; but who knows. Marks has to tweak the roster a bit to imrpove, waiting until the deadline is reached is a sign of desperation and a higher likelihood of making a move for the sake of making a move and getting fleeced.

Seed doesn't matter. Ideally we just avoid the Celtics as long as possible.

Assuming we're the #4 as in you're scenario, I'd say Philly #1 with Bucks & Celtics as the 2/3 is the ideal, though if Middleton continues to be hampered by injury, the Bucks could be a more enticing matchup than Philly.

Why do I feel like there's a random Lakers scrub who will cook tonight?

We won't be talking like that with legit coach in place. This is sad we have to wonder what to expect from game to game.

Seth, Joe and Sharpe need to go.

We can use energy big who can rotate. Olynik, Stewart or Naz will do wonders.
