Welcome to our latest 3 initials player DFS, following in the footsteps of Nets legends RHJ and TLC.
Everytime I've watched him, he was the athletic guy who stands in the corner and watches Luka dribble and that seemed to be the extent of his role. For people who've watched more Mavs games, does he have more in his bag? Can you trust him at the end of games? How does he differ from Royce? Can he play with Royce?
His contract runs for 3 more seasons after this one so he's ours for better or worse.

As per Bob, he can still be flipped in a separate deal; according to Woj, Nets are NOT rebuilding; this gives insight as to which way they are gonna go. They will get another star, perhaps a Lillard, Trey Young, Lavine, OG type. Marks is probably looking at Chicago and Portland hard. Vucevic/Lavine and Lillard/Nurcic.

I don't think DFS can part of that package though unless if it were a 3 way. Who would trade a star for a role player on a 4 year contract. He has value playing alongside stars, but no value in a rebuild.
Btw OG is not a star, at least not the type of star we need.

Really happy to have DFS here. Excited to see his defense and energy in the Clays.
Nets are now full of rangy, switchable defenders who can hot an open 3.
I want Sean Marks gone but he did a good job with the trade. Now he has to get a reliable co-star next to KD (that's clearly not Simmons)

It’s make or break week for Marks. He has time now to make another impactful deal whereas last year he didn’t. The timing of this trade Is good news for Nets fans.

He’s not getting flipped and it’s ironic KD was gushing about how much he admired his game on his podcast recently.
Simmons is more likely to be dealt than DFS. The Nets are all in on switching defense similar to Powell/Covington/PG13/Kawhi on the Clippers.

He can be flipped, but you can't aggregate his salary with other outgoing salary, unless the Mavericks deal is expanded before becoming official. I believe the league office does not approve trades on the weekends, so theoretically Marks can expand this to a 3 way deal if he has something lined up. The bigger the overall deal, the easier the salary matching.

closing out games im excited to see dfs, oneal, clax, kd, and i guess dinwiddie? going to be a night and day experience compared to the last couple years with harden and kyrie bystanding or being forced to have liabilities like harris/seth/patty get overexposed.
just sad bruce brown isnt here for it.

He’s been pretty bad this year. Maybe a change of scenery will help him. He was decent last year.

Lovely person and hustle player - been having a bit of an underwhelming year but we're sure you'll love him regardless. He's very very inconsistent though - one game he'll hit 6 threes and then the next one miss all of his attempts. But he'll always hustle his ass off.
