This is the precursor to a trade.

Take a deep breath, we are either going to be ecstatic or probably very disappointed with what happens next.

Opening up a roster spot. It's a prelude to something bigger or just eying the buyout market.

Bye Edwards, really thought we had something with you starting last year but never took on that challenge I guess.

Yuta won that hope for me.

I haven’t been ecstatic since the Nets acquired Deron Williams and we all know how this ended

All Scary Hours era was one huge disappointment, not getting my hopes up

Nets will def need roster/cap space for either trades or for buyout market.

Kess is a waste of a spot, since he's still a g-league guy. I can see Sharpe also getting traded since it's clear he's not NBA ready.

That’s a sign we gonna hold to KD for now , otherwise it makes more sense to trade other Vets and led the kids develop

Damn. I was looking forward to him getting heavy minutes tonight. This is an obvious sign we’re about to make another move. We swapped two players in Kyrie and Kieff for Spencer and DFS. We didn’t need to do this unless we’re signing or expected to land multiple players back.

Something big needs to happen. Otherwise just traded a young role player for nothing

There is nothing big on the market that we could become instant contender, guys like FVV or Lowry doesn’t move the needle

Well maybe Lillard but it would be Harden trade all over again , they would’ve take all our young assets and pick’s including Clax , Cam ,Sumner etc

Siakim is the only true needle mover, but a cheapish lavine or derozen gives a sniff at a title

They definitely can if Durant can meddle and convince some star on a bad team to request a trade here (Similar to Paul George leaving OKC).

The supporting cast isn't bad, but the team badly needs a legit second option

We probably just wanted a roster spot. Might get somebody off the buyout market.

I'm glad Kess at least gets a chance somewhere else rather than being cut.

I’m not getting my hopes up just yet. This move saved Tsai $20 or $30 million $8 million(?) in luxury tax payments. We haven’t used TPEs we’ve acquired in trades and left a roster spot open the past few years.

While I’d love for this to be a precursor for a trade, I can easily see Tsai saying to Marks: “If we have less star power on the team than before, find a way to save me some money to compensate for any potential corresponding decline in sales of tickets, in-stadium merchandise, etc.”

We're not even getting a 2nd round pick in this?
