Good. I was asking for this the whole time.
No way did we have any chance of contending anymore and it was time to move in.
I wish we took the Lakers package though if we were planning on rebuilding. Not sure what the point of adding Dinwiddie and DFS was if were trading KD.

Excited to have him on the team.
Defense will be elite.

@crives deserved to start this thread lol.
honestly i've liked this deal since the summer. bridges is a stud signed for 4 years on a great contract. he and Cam J. fit perfectly with Claxton in a modern front court.
now it's Cam's time to shine. who knows maybe he can be our booker?
will be interesting to see what happens with Simmons now. Not a lot of urgency to dump him for pennies on the dollar but also no clear spot for him.
i'd guess they trade 1 of royce/dfs to pick up an extra 1st since they are a little redundant?

So why take the Dinwiddle deal if they were going to trade KD? Anyway, I am extremely disappointed. I hope the Nets never try this again. Sacrificed everything for these ego maniacs and they didn't give back ****.

About as good as we could have hoped for in so far as gearing up for a rebuild.

I feel bad for Dinwiddie and Finney Smith. Dudes literally were talking about playing with KD.

Four unprotected firsts.
Maybe go get Siakam now?

So in the final draft pick reconciliation (with some minor edits after the initial post):
Nets traded 3 FRP's to Houston for Harden, 1 already conveyed in '22. (-3)
Got 2 back for Harden from Philly, 1 already conveyed in '22. (-1)
Got 1 back from Dallas for Kyrie (even)
Got 4 back from Phoenix for KD (+4)
they get 1 swap from phoenix and have 4 outstanding to houston, but the first one will lapse this year without any harm so 3 left with.1 coming back.
Bridges and Cam are stud young wings who will fit great with Claxton. DFS is a nice role player. Dinwiddie back where he started.
only real talent they traded away was allen, but claxton kind of makes up for that.
all in all came out of the KD/Kyrie era pretty good.
Simmons who the hell knows.
bummed we didnt get to see KD with this group that can really D up but excited to see Cam get his shot with a group that fits around him.

they are down some swaps but who knows if they convey.

Supposedly we get a 2028 swap with PHX as well.

I was wondering about this. Do the Nets still try to add a guy or do they stay young and rebuild? Siakam would fit in well, but should we be wasting assets? I don't think we're done. This team is very deep, even if it lacks star power. The lunch pail Nets are back.

Lol disaster. No idea how you guys are chipper.
Nets are cooked. Franchise may never recover. Love you you guys are acting like trading Kevin freaking Durant for nothing is no big deal.

So, basically.
Dinwiddie, DFS, Bridges, Johnson are the key pieces with FIVE unprotected firsts, two seconds and a 2028 pick swap for Kyrie and KD.

We have good pieces to develop with some unprotected picks and trade assets. Nobody is jumping for joy but we can build a team oriented style again like we did without them.
We did well considering the options.

honestly i dont see the need to trade for siakam right now. why bother? this team isn't winning a championship this year. why not wait until a younger star asks out?
this roster is now over flowing with wings. for those that don't know cam johnson is having quite the breakout this year and bridges took his game to another level also. having dfs and oneal with claxton anchoring is an embarrassment of defense.
i wanted to see kd get to play with this group and give it one last run but this is the smart move. they just completely restocked the franchise and rolled the clocks back about a decade cashing in a 34 year old they got for nothing from free agency. and he gave us a ton of great ball in between. im rooting for kd and phoenix. right up until those 2025/27/29 picks.

Exactly my first thought, Dallas trade seems pointless right now , Marks **** the bed
