solid back up in those games where back up center minutes are needed. Can rim protect with some switchability.

I'll take it... I'm not overly negative on Sharpe, but he needs more seasoning before he's ready for a consistent role.

Let’s gooooo! This was my buyout option of choice.
He will definitely help our defense when Nic is on the bench. Finally, we don’t need to rely on Ben at Center and Sharpe who needs to be on Long Island for a while.

He’s added the mid range and can occasionally shoot threes now. Great fit for the new 3&D identity. He’s going to get a bigger role here than mentoring Duren and Wiseman.

Very necessary signing. Tired of relying on Sharpe.

the other nice thing about a signing like this over sharpe is that you can play guys like cam t and curry a little more freely now when bridges and claxton are on the bench and not worry about layup lines. noel is a pretty good fit backup up claxton when they go big and dfs not playing small ball 5.

I like it. I think he's very limited offensively, but you don't get 2-way players in the buyout market. He's a much needed rim protector when claxton is out at the very least.

Wonder how it will carry into next season; also, for those wondering what the plan is, it's quiet obvious now, NO TANKING and they are not going to do a full rebuild either. Bridges, Johnson and Clax are KEEPERS whereas everyone else is fair game. Keep your eyes on Boston this post season, if they get eliminated at any point, talks will begin to rise of JB/Tatum and the team possibly breaking up.

It’s a 10 day contract.
Pretty easy to see this turning into a full time signing. Also, JV has to grow up and stop punishing Edmond. It’s pathetic he’s never gotten a chance to play since the trade.

Knicks fan here:
Does Noel have any juice in his legs? Random knee injuries + the ascension of Jericho Sims last year kept Noel on the bench full-time. I'm not sure what your needs and expectations are for him, but he can theoretically give the bench a few mins here and there as a big.
Now if you're trying to win games, I'm not sure. Your team runs a bunch of drop coverage, right? He mainly thrived during that season or so with the Knicks because we went heavy in drop coverage. Main issues with him though is that he's a foul machine and that his tendency to get stocks exposes you on the glass (which I believe you're the 2nd worst rebounding team, right?).
Anyhow, I'd have thought you would take a flyer on another big instead to see if they're worth developing. Noel is who he is at this point.

Just need a big with experience to spell Clax. Sharpe just isn't ready. I don't think we'll expect a ton of minutes from Noel especially since JV is willing to go with small lineup often.

He’s serviceable. He can rotate and block shots. We really just need 10-15 minutes per game for him to give Claxton a break. We legitimately play Dorian at C without Ben and due to the fact Sharpe isn’t ready yet. He’s got a few more years before he’s close to a backup.

He's at least an NBA level big, which Sharpe was not.
If he still has juice left, is a nice fit to play back up 5 behind Clax.

It looks like we are not just going to throw in the towel. At this point we might as well go down fighting and the chips fall.
This move though was long overdue.

Now we're talking. Adds more confidence that the FO is serious in making noise in the playoffs.

Looks like the tank's being shelved after we have 1 good win.
Move typical of our reactionary front office.
