... is better this year? Cam J or Mikal? Both so far and projected? Offense? Defense? All-around? What's the general feeling?

I was bandwagoning PHX when they drafted both ('cause Ricky Rubio).

No idea about their contracts but I'd say Mikal has a lesser role in a major team and Cam a major role in a lesser team...
... so far.

NYK might still have a worse season than expected and it's yet possible for BRK to get a better season than expected.
As from now, lion's tail/mouse's head scenario.

From strictly game perspective, Mikal looked evolving better and faster while Cam apparently stagnated his game...
...so far.

I've been currently seeing some shakes on Mikal probably due to him still adjusting to Thibs and teammates while I'm feeling like Johnson is growing his game trying to be something more than a shooting specialist, probably due to new Fernandez approach.

At this point I'd say Mikal is visibly better but it's not a carved at stone thing.
They are both still relatively young and their respective evolution as players are far to be completed.

As per todays wiretap.....

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/278218/Mikal-Bridges-On-Fourth-Quarter-Benching-I-Got-To-Play-Better

Bridges has been controversial for a while now. The so called broken jump shot and his unwillingness to rest because of his ironman dedication (which I admire). But the Knicks gave up a lot on him and we know it is too early to tell if it will pay off.

I remember a few season ago when Joe Harris was struggling right around this point in the season. RJ mentioned that Joe would shake it off and come back around to his old self. Sure enough Joe did have some good performances but he never regained his past reliability.

I think Cam J has been very good this season and I believe his services will be in demand and at a high cost now than before the season started.

This is Cam J and it isn’t particularly close.

Bridges has been flatout mediocre, if not bad this season thus far.

Cam J has been very good and extremely efficient, even more impressive on this roster, where opposing defenses can key in on him easier.

What does that even mean? Mikal plays a lot more minutes and takes more shots. While Cam J has 2% more usg rate... They are essentially the same role this year. Cam is just simply the better player.

In every statistical aspect Cam is literally beating Mikal. The guy is having a 50/40/90 season yet he is stagnant? Are you just babbling?

It's Cam, and I'm glad he's playing very well for an extended stretch.
