Pacer fan here

I have mixed emotions about this trade. While I like VC's ability to score, he rarely plays defense, or goes to the hole. JO is a little banged up right now, but he instantly would give you guys a dominating post presence and fantastic interior D. I think for us to make this work, we would have to either include T. Murphy or substitute Sean Williams for Magloire

Thoughts?

No no no no no no no no!
Man this is soo frustrating.........
The talent isnt this team's problem its the awful coaching.
No matter what when you have 3 all star caliber players to work with there are no excuses for a 18-21 record especially after the team's confidence was sky high when they had that 7-8 winning streak.
This year Frank cant fall back on the "but we dont have a good big man to work with" excuse because 1)Jamal's terrible play falls soley on his laps 2)Josh Boone and Sean Williams have been amazing.

Granted JO will draw a lot of double teaming down low and if this rumor doesnt get Vince motivated we might as well offer Vince+anyone not named Marcus,Sean and Josh even though Vince's value is much higher than Jermaine's.

Yes. Trade one of the Big 3 for anyone (anyone who is good)... Even if it's a lateral move this team needs a shakeup...

http://www.northjersey.com/sports/nets/13927772.html

On the other hand... Carter AND Marcus Williams? I'm willing to part with Carter and a young player for O'Neal as long as that young player is neither of the Williams' which would probably make things difficult as I don't think the Pacers are that interested in Boone or feel like they need Wright =\

Here's a nice little trade
http://www.realgm.com/src_tradechecker/3/

Indiana doesnt loose any value in this trade(Vince's value is much better than JO's) and gets 2 very attractive expirings to give them some salary space when the contracts run out.

What about:

JO, Rush and Diener.

For

Carter, Nachbar, Magloire, Marcus...

That way we get back 2 shooters in rush and diener...

I'm so hesitant to trade Marcus with last night still fresh. Yes I know, it's not an excuse, but we're trading for an injured star at the moment.

Collins (Mourning), Magloire (Aaron Williams), Nachbar (Eric Williams) and two firsts should do it.

I was too but this teams needs a shakeup, it's painful to watch this team and know we'll be lucky to even make it pass the 1st round..

Besides we'll hace get a better PG prospect with a higher ceiling in Diener.

Change in Team Outlook: -8.0 ppg, -3.0 rpg, and -2.4 apg.

Incoming Players
Troy Murphy
6-11 PF from Notre Dame
10.1 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.0 apg in 25.9 minutes
Jermaine O'Neal
6-11 PF from Eau Claire (HS)
15.3 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 2.5 apg in 31.3 minutes

Outgoing Players
Marcus Williams
6-3 PG from Connecticut
1.5 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 0.8 apg in 7.3 minutes
Sean Williams
6-10 PF from Boston College
7.4 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.5 apg in 21.0 minutes
Jamaal Magloire
6-11 C from Kentucky
1.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.3 apg in 11.3 minutes
Jason Collins
7-0 C from Stanford
1.4 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 0.5 apg in 17.0 minutes
Vince Carter
6-6 SG / SF from North Carolina
21.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 4.8 apg in 38.2 minutes

I think this is a good trade for all parties. We take Collins off your books and you dont have to give up a draft pick

Sean + Marcus > O'Neal

Trading for Carter for O'Neal COULD make the Nets better but it's a BIG gamble given O'neals penchant for injuries AND the fact that it requires the Nets to give up their best perimeter shooter / best player who can create off the dribble...

It looks and smells like a lateral move but one that I think the Nets would be willing to make just to shake things up and improve the defense, so with that being said I doubt the nets would be willing to include much beyond Carter.

They'd gladly trade Collins or Magloire since neither one of them is getting much PT anyway, but giving up their best two young players and a legitimate all-star who has NOT been an injury concern the past couple of years for a player with a history of injury problems and who is just a borderline all-star / tier 2 big man (at least judging by the way he's played of late) just doesn't make much sense...

Guys seriously now JO is not the answer the only real big that can can pull us out of this slump is Gasol so I created this trade.

http://www.realgm.com/src_tradechecker/3/

This trade works for both teams, Memphis gets some HUGE expirings or a possible future star in Nenad and finally commit to rebuilding like they needed to for a LOOOOOOONG time and we get to have a

Rush and JO for Vince, Marcus, Magliore and Bookie seems all right to me.

I dont understand those trade talks around Oneal, especially giving up a all star for him. That guy is more time injured than plays, who needs that money leeching b*stard? POINTLESS. And btw, his turnaround jumper sucks!!!!

I refuse to believe that gimp JO has more value than VC. I love JO and all, but him and McGrady are the most injury prone players in the league. If it was RJ instead of VC, and we had a trio of JKidd/VC/JO, then I could believe us to be contenders, but not JKidd/RJ/JO..
