A potential problem.

I was looking at the on/off court numbers posted on 82games.com here's a summary of the Nets starting 5:

Points per 100 Possessions:

Jason Kidd: +5.6
Vince Carter: +9.2
Richard Jefferson:
Sean Williams: -9.1
Josh Boone: +2.7

Now on/off court numbers aren't the end all be all statistic but I think it's telling how using them the Nets offense is 3 points better with Sean Williams off the court and the Nets defense is a whooping +6.2 (meaning they allow 6.2 less ppg per 100 possessions when Sean is off the court)...

I bring this up mainly because using on/off court numbers when Jamaal Magloire is on the court the Nets theoretically allow 7.8 less ppg per 100 possessions, with Jason Collins on the court the Nets allow 2.7 less ppg per 100 possessions - he however more negatively affects the offense than Williams (Magloire conversely doesn't hurt the offense as much as Sean supposedly does).

I just thought this was interesting to note. I like Sean as much as the next Nets fan but as "dumb" as it may sound given Magloire's stone-hand-itis this year, I'm actually in favor of replacing Sean with Magloire in the starting lineup just to see how things pan out.

*Note unless i missed something on 82games.com it turns out a combination of:

Kidd / Carter / Jefferson / Boone / Magloire

Has never even taken the floor together! Man that makes me... :nonono:

Thread Summary:
- Potential Problem = Sean Williams isn't as ready as everyone thinks he is to be starting / playing big time minutes. Frank might have had the right idea by being reluctant to play Sean, but he was wrong in trying to play Collins instead of him. He should have / should be experimenting with Magloire instead/

Problem I see with this is Sean keeps the ball alive. I don't really agree with that stat but I can see it being true but having Collins and Malik on, aren't any better those stats or not.

i think sean would be best as the 6th man off the bench.

itd be best to start collins/magloire with boone.

well you know Magloire won't be starting. So it'd be Collins with Boone.

I think you stick with Williams unless Krstic is healthy or you make a deal for someone else. He's learning, no one expected him to be as good as he has, ride it out for the season.

Sean Williams can be a threat if and only if STUPID FRANKS runs some plays for him
