Blowing up the Nets.

Here is a proposal that I thought of today for the Nets. You guys get a lot of draft picks, a lot of youth, a crap load of money off the cap over a 2 year time span.

First trade Jason Kidd - Miami Heat.
The Heat trade - Jayson Williams (exp contract) Ricky Williams (expiring contract) Dorrell Wright (young kid still not a big prize though, could develop into a decent role player down the line) Miami Heat 1st round pick top 10 protected.

Currently the Heat have the 3rd pick. In a move like this I see them moving up to atleast the 8th seed in the East. That would give the Nets the #16 pick in the Draft if the Heat were to make the playoffs. If not possibly higher.

Next trade. Vince Carter to the Houston Rockets.
Luis Scola (good young big man) Luther Head (decent back up G who is young) Kirk Snyder (exp contract) Raefer Alston (Team moving to NY right, he'll make a attraction at least the least attractive peice that NJ gets back in this deal I think), Houston #1 top 10 protected.

Rockets are at the #13 pick in the draft. In the West I could see them making it up to about 6 or 7 seed in the playoffs. Making this pick in the late teen's early 20's. Good young prospects in Scola and Head and a expiring in Snyder and a decent pick. I doubt Houston makes this happen but who knows.

Last trade. Richard Jefferson to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Desmond Mason (1 more year left on contract could fill void at wind at a cheap price), Jake Voshkul (Expiring Contract), 1st rd pick. Bucks currently have the #10 pick in the draft.

After this move the Bucks would move up a few spots but I could still see them missing the playoffs. The big payoff for the Bucks here is when Yi and Bogut develop as Jefferson and Redd would be great compliments to those 2. For the Nets. Desmond Mason is a decent player who will fill the wing until his contract comes off the books after next season. Voshkul comes off the cap this season and anoth 1st rd pick this one being in the mid teens I think.

The Nets are pretty much completely blown up at this point and the team is going to go down the ranks but up the Lottery Ladder fast. A top 6 pick for the Nets own pick could be expected. Now the Nets have 4 picks in the Draft between 6 - 21 at the worst I would guess. They could possibly flip two picks to get higher if they want on draft nite. Tons of money coming off the cap in a two year time span. Some good young talent coming in return to evaluate over the next few years. Load up on the picks and young talent. Half the players would have to be waived as they would get back 10 players in return for 3. That's ok though. The team isn't going to look all that pretty but that is part of rebuilding.

Here is how the salary's look coming off the Nets books in the next two years.

07/08
J. Williams - 8.9 Mill
R. Davis - 6.8 Mill
Jake Voshkul - 3.0 Mill.
Kirk Snyder - 2.4 Mill.
D. Wright - 1.7 Mill

08/09
D. Mason - 5.3 million.
L. Head - 1.9 million

09/10
Skip - 5.2 Mill

Here is the link for the proposed trades. Using the trade checker I was able to do all of them on one but treat them all individually. If that made sense. I just had to put Charlie V as a sub to represent the Milwaukee draft pick.

Oh this is highly unlikely but I was bored so I thought I would just throw it out there.

That's awful value for all three players, if anything they should keep Jefferson. Just trade Kidd and Vince. Also, the Miami Heat are finished, they're looking to rebuild also now. Acquiring Kidd for them would not make any sense at this point.
