Rumor: 3-way deal with Dallas and Portland

The Nets are discussing a complicated three-team scenario with the Mavericks and Blazers in which Kidd would go to Dallas, league sources said.
In return, the Nets would get back young players (Jarrett Jack and Travis Outlaw), expiring contracts (Devean George, DeSagana Diop), Jerry Stackhouse, draft picks and cash. More players, including other Nets, would be involved.
There are other willing trade partners and possibilities as the Lakers, Cavaliers, Nuggets, Spurs and Suns also would like to be in the Kidd sweepstakes.

Much discussed, and already shot down directly by Cuban who implied the writer was on crack to even theorize such an absurd trade by the Mavs.

We shouldnt even be speaking with Dallas unless they're willing to give us either Howard or Harris.
Howard will be perfect for us but Im fine with rebuilding with a very talented core of M.Williams,Sean,Josh and Harris leading them and in a than after a couple of salary free season's make some big purchases in 2010 when a F load of stars become free agents .
I really think the best option would be to talk with Miami Riley is in a permenant "win now mode" and will gladly give us a deal that will include a 1st round(which is gonna be a very good pick if things continue to go the way its been for them) and Shaq, which in the end will allow to stay competitive and rebuild.

Miami owes Minny its first round pick.

Your GM is looking for salary cap space. Young, quality players aren't even being offered anymore for Kidd. Just expiring contracts.

I don't see much value in getting expiring contract for Kidd. He is only on the books for one more year.

Newest rumor from Al (who has been wrong before):
Nets ship out Kidd and other small pieces (Mags, DA etc.) and get back:
Jarrett Jack
Travis Outlaw
Channing Frye
Devean George (expiring)
Desagana Diop (expiring)
Jerry Stackhouse (expiring)
Cash from Por/Dal to buy out Stack
#1 picks from Por and Dal
He also says Devin Harris goes to Portland either because Por won't be involved otherwise, or Harris' contract extension is too rich for our blood.
Check netsdaily.com for the story.
Yikes! Just deal with Dallas then and get Harris!!!
I will say, if this is the best we can do, at least we strengthen our bench and add athletes...but still...let's get Devin! Quick, defensive guard...that's who I want.
I like Jack, Outlaw and to a lesser extent Frye...Diop is good defensively but doesn't score...so maybe he becomes the next Jason Collins...a.k.a. player we hate getting too many minutes.

I don't think Jack and Frye are worth that much. All they're capable of doing is shoring up the bench. Outlaw would be the main player coming back in that trade, but he's playing RJeff's position.
I don't understand why JUST dealing with Dallas and getting Harris is not possible. Maybe Rod likes Marcus Williams as the PG of the future more.

i tried every possibility on the trade checker and nothing would work. Outlaw is a BYC player, making him very hard to trade. After about 30 mins this is wut i came up with to make the salaries work.
Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to New Jersey, Dallas, and Portland being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New Jersey, Dallas, and Portland had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

from a blazer perspective: portland will not be trading Travis Outlaw in any of these scenarios. Harris would be a nice addition, but the price portland would pay in these scenarios is absurd. Harris is good but he's not that good. Not even close.
I mean c'mon...portland trades Outlaw, Blake, Frye, Jack, a 1st round pick, and cash for Harris and Eddie Jones???!!? It's beyond fantasy for chrissakes.
I'm sorry, but if NJ trades Kidd, they won't get anything remotely equal to the value of some of these rumors and proposals.

I think I'd do that deal. Outlaw is still very young and has shown great improvement in his play and has a lot of potential while reaching some of it.
Here's the thing about Harris, management wants to see what marcus can do and both of them would just be competing for the PG position since neither is big enough for the 2G.

Who wouldn't do this deal? JJ, Outlaw and even Frye all have potential. You get 3 expiring contracts and 2 1st rounders. This is the best scenario i have heard of for us.
I hope to God this deal gets done

I agree. You would think that with all these players Portland is giving up that they are the ones that are getting Kidd and not Dallas.

Portland is giving up too much.
However, the whole deal really hasn't been reported, just seems like the premise is that Portland would get Harris, Kidd obviously to Dallas, and Nets getting prospects and expirings.
Outlaw is certainly the reason these talks are progressing. He's got such potential to be a star.
Doesn't seem like Portland is giving up a first as originally pressumed.
I like getting Jack because it would at least bring up the possiblity Marcus could be dealt (maybe to entice someone to take (take is probably too strong a word) a risk in Vince.
I thought about an interesting proposal involving VC and Marcus.
The Clippers at the core seem to make a whole lot of sense because Elton might want out and VC could entice him to stay.
They have Cassell and Maggette who could make up the contracts plus their first (which I know would be high and therefore might be risky) but I offer this:
VC, Marcus for Cassell, Maggette, First+Fillers
For Nets it would be expirings and the first of course and the Clips would get a star in LA to match Kobe and have the potential to sport of lineup of:
C: Kaman
PF: Brand (should he resign)
SF: Thornton
SG: Carter
PG: Williams
Again just an idea. I know a contender seems more probable for Carter.
Just figured I'd throw my two sense in.
I haven't done so in a while.

From Portlands view point
nonononononononononononononono
We would give up outlaw jack and webster for Harris, absolute insanity
