I was thinking this over.

Obviously the Nets are going younger and it would be likely that VC would be next to move.

HOWEVER, the NBA is a business and VC is our only player left that people will pay top dollar to go and see.

I am the first to say that getting VC out of town for expirings, youth and picks is certainly the way I'd want to go BUT I don't stand to lose money.

Clearly payroll will be getting cut, but at the same time do the Nets feel they need to keep VC around to fill seats?

He likely won't be happy and like I said I'd love to see him get the opportunity to move to a contender and have a chance at a championship, granted I don't know who matches up well.

Right now I think Miami could be a match with their expirings, Dequan Cook/Dorrell Wright and future firsts.

I also think as much as I hate Crawford a Crawford/James plus Lee or Balkman type deal could be worth looking into.

The 2010 offseason (LBJ/Wade) is a long time away but at the same time you look and say if some of our young players develop well they will be in the primes of their careers as that duo becomes available.

Plus we are in the No. 1 market and the Jay-Z thing will always be talked about.

This is definitely an exciting time to be a Nets fan even if you are pissed off about them leaving New Jersey like I am.

Kidd is gone and like many of you he was my favorite player but at the same time it was a great marriage and now it's over and it's time to move into a new era.

Payroll will likely be cut but as I said this is a business, so it will be interesting to see what the Nets next step is.

I say keep Vince. We did well enough by keeping the PG spot competitive in Harris. Thorn has always been in win now mode so i dont think he's looking to obliterate this team into the lottery just yet.

Plus vince can still get it done as long as he keeps it in mind. He's not that old either. 30 or 31 i forget but this is still part of his prime, maybe not phsyically but basketball intelligence-wise it is. Kidd is 34 and still able to average a triple double. Vince has got plenty left in him. The only issues with him are in his head. But as a player, he's valuable.

Also, Chris Broussard is still talking about the VC/JO deal which I think would be good ONLY if JO shuts it down for the season and the Nets get a quality swingman in the lottery.

Even still it is a worthy gamble.

Now that Kidd is gone, I say VC to the Clippers.

I dont know if this works but to Get rid of VC, I will take Maggette, Cassell, and Pick or switch picks.

We get Maggette (two years left if he picks up option), Cassell (buy him out so he can go to Boston), and a pick or switch picks.

not to sound biased because I am a raptor fan, but to speak the truth, there is no way VC will be content to stick around with the NETs when your biggest asset and his biggest asset of jkidd is gone. Sure, devin harris is great and I believe that trade was definitely inevitable, and I believe the Nets got a good amount for an aging point guard, even though he is still playing at a very high level. However, Devin Harris can in no way shape or form lead this team with even a remotely close resemblance to what kidd did with his passing ability as well as how kidd leads the team.

VC has been known to whine if he is not happy. He knows that right now with this team, NJ are not contenders or even close to it. He will want out and he will do anything to make you guys trade him. Prepare to see the real vince

No way NJ moves VC for garabe so I think he should stay he's been playing great lately and I think we can build a fun team with him people are making it seem like VC can't play with young players lol.

completely disagree. This situation is totally different. Stability is the main difference. Thorn and NJ management are aware of what they're doing, Toronto didn't have a clue for those years when VC was there. We have promising young players, older vets who can get the job done, etc...Toronto was in a mess before/during/nearly after the deal that sent VC here. Coaching changes, roster changes, management changes, etc...This is totally different.
