1050 Just Reported

Post#1 » by S.I.C. GM » Fri Feb 15, 2008 9:25 pm

1050 ESPN Radio just reported that Stack cant be in trade.

EDIT*******

I just went to the Dallas Forum.

It maybe if he gets traded, he cant go back to Mavs.

I will wait for News Update again and see if it changes.

Well as I said that only leaves one possibilty in KVH, which is a BIG plus for us because he will be a huge expiring its now upto Cuban to decide if Kidd is worth so much money for him thats it.

If anything, I'd say the NBA were going to say that Dallas can't re-sign Stackhouse after a year with a rule change to their current policy of 30 days. Does the front office have that jurisdiction to say a player can't be traded?

The NBA can't do that...

Stack can be in the trade but just can't return to Dallas. Mavericks not giving up though they trying to replace Stackhouse and George with Hassell and Van Horn.

I'd be really surprised if NJ risks getting Hassell. NJ will want to buy him out, but who knows if Hassell doesn't want to be bought out? I hope we've learned from the McInnis ordeal and just walk away. We've tried, let's just move on.

If we can still get cap space, the picks, and Harris/Diop out of this and if Cuban is willing to take the l-tax hit for including KVH, i say go for it Thorn!! There's no reason what so ever to keep Kidd, period, especially after he threatend to shut it down. I wanted him gone three weeks ago...what a sweet deal for us!

adios, Kidd! hello Devin Harris !!

If Dallas forces Hassell on us we should bail, he's got 2 years on his contract and thats a big no-no.
Thorn should try to get a KVH+Harris package for Kidd.
Thats a big expiring and a future star deal that we want.

Cuban himself may be holding this deal, but can you blame him?. Dallas has the highest team payroll in the NBA right now, even more than the Knicks. Aside from keeping Stackhouse and George, he's got to shell out an additional $3 million to the Nets to match Kidd's contract, and pay Kidd's contract for a slightly better chance in the playoffs in a Conference that has gotten even more competitive the last two weeks.

Cuban should tell Thorn to piss off then. The Nets are already getting more than they deserve in this deal. Cuban and the Mavs don't need Kidd that bad. How about if the Nets give a little on this deal rather than the Mavs being the only ones to give a little.

Go ahead and build around your 35 year old disgruntled PG as some NJ fans have suggested in some of these threads.

Then good luck playing Western powerhouses in SA, LA, PHX, or getting elimiunated early again by Golden State with also Utah, New Orleans, Denver and Houston in there. Sure we care if we don't get Harris, but no one's against letting Kidd play until the summer when he becomes an expiring.

If Hassel also agrees on a buyout ( which would be cheaper anyway ) i don't see a problem witch switching George and Stack with KVH and Hassel .

None of the guys played a role anyway .

Cuban sure as hell does. If Netaman's numbers are correct, he would've done it already.

RealMavsMan,

Are you getting on the top 50 players ever to play the game? (some might say top 55 or 60). Are you getting that player when he can still pretty much average a triple double a game? Does he give you a better shot at the title in the next 2-3 years with your window closing slightly each day? What in god's name are you talking about?

Please explain.

We will take our chances. It is better than giving N.J. a ridiculous amount of value for Jason Kidd. If N.J. does not want to give a little then let them rot with an unhappy Kidd. All I am saying is that if N.J. wants to make a deal they need to give a little to make it happen. If they don't want to give in on anything then forget the deal.

Well that might be true but from the NJ perspective nothing would change .
