Question: Mavs Deal or Last years LA Deal?

Post#1 » by Chubby Chaser » Mon Feb 18, 2008 9:38 am

Do you guys think this current offer from the Mavs with, Diop, KVH, Hassell Harris, Ager, cash n picks, is better than the Kwame, Farmar, Cash and a 1st that was on the table last year before the deadline?

(Excluding Bynum in the trade of course)

i'm not a Nets fan, so from an impartial view

Diop>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kwame
Hassell has 1 year left
Harris>>>>>>>>>>farmar
2 first rounders>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>1 first rounder

plus Dallas will probably be a lower seed than LA so those draft picks will be better too.

If you put Bynum in that it would be closer, but we have 2 young PF/C. So PG for PG would work better.

Seeing that LA never would have come up off of Bynum, the Dallas deal is far superior. I am astounded Rod was even able to work this deal, we got far more than i expected for Kidd.

IN ROD WE TRUST!!

Harris future 20ppg 6apg, better than farmer, plus quicker and 2 first round picks, who knows JKidd might retire in the next 3 years or lose his effectiveness while Harris is beasting

people have been saying that for like 3 years now but he keeps proving everyone wrong. I really wouldnt be surprised if he takes dallas to the Conference Finals or even the Finals. He wants his ring.

but im still glad we got Harris

I don't know if you are being sarcastic, but without question, if we would have gotten Bynum, plus the rest of the LA deal it would have been far superior.

Like someone else said, also , Gasol was had for KWame, a decent 6xt man looking pg and 2 1sts.

We probrably miss the playoffs last year an go lotto

Draft a PG or trade the pick for someone like ANdre Miller

Imagine if we had a lineup such as:

PG: Miller
SG VC
SF RJ
PF Gasol
C Bynum
Bench of Boone, Boki, SWAT and Curly

Easy contender in 1 to 3 years.

Even trade VC straight up for Tmac or RJ for Kirlenko when these guys were also available in the offseason for straight up value.

I like the deal we got for Kidd, but.................

I don't think we'd be able to make the Memphis deal if we made the LA deal.

Just seems like Gasol would be reluctant to come here with that team - and doesn't he have a veto over the trade?

Gasol doesn't have a no-trade clause.
