Do you guys know anything about Maurice Ager? I didnt. So I took a look.

Here are a few quotes I got from Draft Express:

When talking about all-around offensive threats at the wing position, Maurice Ager

he can compete with Marcus for PT behind Harris. I have no problem acquiring 2 PGs in this deal because DA can only give us so much

over-reliant on 3pt, not a good defender, not a good passer, not good in the 1/2 court...ugh. I don't follow the West that much outside of Kobe / Nash so I know nothing about this dude but you don't hear anything about him & the Mav's board doesn't seem to care a lick about him leaving.

Also, based on Roland Ratings he by far has the most negative (or least positive) impact for that team at - 20.3. Sadly Hassell is next worse.

Dallas is lacking in the SG position and obviously Ager was not their solution.

The best thing that could happen is Wright & Ager do better in their new settings but I doubt it for either of them.

I'm just looking forward to Harris who by many accounts is a speed demon that can break down defenses off the dribble & is an excellent defender. Unfortunately I don't like reading that he flops like a fish trying get calls (lame).

I watched some Dallas Games this season and Ager is just awful .

He never attacks the basktets he just settles for quick jumpers and isn't able to hit them.

Yup, we call him Maurice "Brick" Ager. He's a waste of a roster spot, but with some extra play time in NJ maybe he can be become halfway not horrible.

Thats all before he got in the league. He is not NBA material. I say see yeah Ager!

2006-07 season: One of the strangest moments of the season came at the start of the fourth quarter of Game 6 against Golden State. With the Mavs fighting to stave off elimination, taking the court was Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse, and ... Maurice Ager???

The same Maurice Ager who shot 31.4 percent in 215 minutes and posted a brutal 2.90 Player Efficiency Rating? The one who had played 13 playoff minutes up to that point? That Maurice Ager?

The Mavs' first-round pick did have his moments. He scored 10 points in that season-ending quarter in Oakland, and had 20 against Golden State during the final week. But overall, his transition to the pros was rough one. He looked overmatched even in a nine-game stint in the D-League, when he shot 40.8 percent, averaged only 4.0 rebounds per 40 minutes, and made 3.4 turnovers per game.

Scouting report: Ager didn't provide the hoped-for shooting touch, as he converted only 10-of-31 3-pointers in the D-League and 5-of-15 with the big club. He has good size for a shooting guard at 6-5 but his athleticism has appeared much less than advertised thus far. He also has to improve his ballhandling, as his turnover numbers were way too high at both levels.

2007-08 outlook: Ager appears to need some more D-League seasoning, which isn't exactly what you want to hear when a player is 23. He's a long shot to make the active roster most nights unless his season-ending mini-breakout was the beginning of a much larger progression.

With the Mavs in a crunch for roster space, it's not inconceivable that they could eat his contract and cast him adrift entirely. Regardless, he's unlikely to see meaningful minutes unless the team is up or down by more than 20 points.

im pretty sure hes a SG not a PG. I dont think hes going to get a lot of playing time. Maybe some spot minutes here and there if guys are in foul trouble but thats it. Maybe a change of scenary will do him good but i dont think hes going to get much of a chance especially with Lawrence Frank as his coach.

I guess he , Van Horn and Magloire will be the inactive players the rest of the season ,if we don't buy out hassel or make another trade .

If the scouting report that SIC gave us is close to accurate. Then This were my pet peeve comes in. It goes way back to when we drafted O'bannon. The dude was a college player of the year, Slasher type who could get to the basket and score. So what do we do? lets put him on the perimeter and make him shoot J's all night. Now i'm not saying O'bannon would of made any trips to the allstar game but he could of been a servicable player had he been allowed to play to his strengths and then work on his weaknesses.

My point is guy's is that Auger's scouting report says he can shoot and with range. Lets plonk him on the arc drive and kick it out let him shoot the rock. Granted most posts from the Mavs say he plays no D. Could he come in a give us some instant offence of the bench? I would just like for us to see for ourselves what he is like. Don't pigeon hole him cos he didn't fit into the Mavs system. We got 30 odd games to find out wether the kid is a good fit for us.

CHEERS!!!

GO NETS!!!

I don't care about him, he's not gonna have any sort of impact on the team. He'll be gone by next year.

Sorry, but Ager is their version of how...Magloire is for us: Useless.

Everyone's looking too hard into the other pieces of this trade. Guys, in basic importance, it's 2 1sts and Harris for Kidd.

Maybe Diop is of some value too , he's playing for a contract this year and hasn't had many opportunities with the Mavs this year to show anything .

Wouldn't suprise me if he can raise his career high in points , which is 10   in the stint with us .

The guy's been getting burn in 52 games this season. I read somewhere he's been getting more than 15 minutes a game. It's not like he didn't have a chance. Personally, I don't have much faith in Diop to really succeed here or anywhere else.

mavs fan here.

ager's main problem was terrible basketball iq.

we were hoping he'd be our next josh howard at the sg position, and it never happened.

diop on the other hand, as a role player, played a huge role for us.
he was basically the only guy we had that could defend duncan, and amare. hate losing him.

No one knows where he is. And we've got a full roster right now.
