Stro ahead of SWAT

Mar 2 Nets coach Lawrence Frank confirmed that Swift has moved ahead of rookie Sean Williams and is the second power forward off the bench behind starter Nenad Krstic, the New York Post reports.
Recommendation: "Right, Stromile [Swift] is the backup four [behind Nenad Krstic]," said Frank. Swift, who had missed some time because of a stomach virus, returned to the court Thursday night playing 19 minutes while scoring four points with seven rebounds, one assist and one block in a win over Milwaukee. Krstic is still not playing much more than 18-20 minutes a game, so there may be some significant time available for Swift.

Well we already what we have in Swat and he has been struggling recently . We also need to know what we have and Stro since we traded for this guy .

Im fine with it for the time being. Swift brings the same athleticism to the table and at the same time is more polished then SWAT. Lets not forget that Swift has some untapped potential in his own right. He has had an opportunity in a successful organization so I am interested to see how he handles it.

I see swift as a valuable expiring for next season. I hope that with the extra playing time he can prove me wrong. That would make Diop very expandable to us come the offseason..

I'd keep Diop over Swift, especially since Sean will be an even better player next season and play that spot. The only way Diop should not be a net next season is if some idiot team overpays.
I think this is a solid move on Frank's part, right now we are trying to fight for playoff seeding and Swift will give us more on both ends of the floor than sean can at this point. This will be a good test of Sean's professionalism, as he will need to prove he can still stay prepared and ready so when his number is called he can give the coach a reason to keep him on the floor.
If anything, i'd give Krstic another game or so to show improvement, otherwise i cut his minutes in half and give Sean some of those. I still say there should be times when the match ups present themselves where Frank can run a high flying line up of SWAT, Swift, Jefferson, Carter, and Harris.

Of course.
If Swift shows us he can rebound and play decent man to man defense we'd be able to use Diop this offseason as a S&T chip this offseason for a team like Dallas or San Antonio that would love to sigjn Diop without using there MLE.
Another scenario is that we can just let Diop walk and not be forced to over pay for him because we'd have swift.
I may be getting ahead of myself but if swift shows he can play consistently like most of you believe Diop becomes expendable to us...

As a team right now, Stro needs minutes...Sean, is the young guy and despite the raw talent, he's not the polish player that Stro is...purely based on NBA experience...Sean was learning on the fly when we needed him...but as of right now I have no problem w. whats Frank is doing...
Boone/Diop
Krstic/Stro
RJ/Boki
VC/Hassel
Harris/Marcus
Sean and DA left over...both might get play in certain situations...especially when we need an energy lift off the bench or specifically going with Sean when we want to go small and run...

I agree. I think the reason why Sean was playing so much more than Stro was because Frank thought this season was dead. He felt like we should just go along and have the young guy learn through it. Since the Kidd trade, our team has been playing upbeat and they look like they actually want to win. Frank understands that its playoff time, and if we want to get in, then theres no goofing around. Swift gives us a better chance right now then Sean.

??
Make up your mind.

oh well...

Anyone know why Stromile went from 19 minutes in the win vs the bucks down to less than 9 minutes in the loss vs the Spurs?
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/340 ... BX9qGkvLYF
Especially since Nachbar missed the second half...
I think it's not good that Williams is losing minutes so that Stromile can get an opportunity. Krstic seems to be contributing the least of all the big men...
I think Stromile should be starting with Williams coming off the bench as the second PF...
And I also think Diop should be starting over Boone ... but contract situations are important...
I'm assuming that Boone and Krstic are both under contract for next season wheras Swift and Diop may be free agents??
If Stromile is happy with the role he's given with New Jersey I bet he'll pick up his player option unless he gets a behind the scenes offer from another team that seems better.

Krstic shouldnt even start...
this will be the perfect starting line up:
Boone/ Diop / Krstic
Swift/ SWAT
RJ/ BOKI
VC/ Hassel
D-Harris/ M. Williams / Armstrong
with this starting five I guess we are the fastest in the league...

Diop should only start against real centers , he can't guard anyone with anything near a midrange jump shot .
And considering Boone is better offensively and doesn't look much worse defensely I even doubt why Diop should start even against these players .

Diop blocks shots. he is more of a defensive presence than Boone. I think we should start the game being able to slow down the other team. Then, inject some energy and scrap with Boone off the bench. Whoever starts, Boone is a bench player.

Diops also no starting Center when you don't have much point production from your Power Foward Spot.
With a recovered Krstic yes but like that no .
The sad thing is Boone is our best offensive big this year and we need points from the big positions .
