Yep he's in Europe right now had been in Spain scouting Victor Claver recently if i remember right.

are they great shooters?, i dont want another Andrea Bargiani, we all know how that worked out........

Actually I heard a lot about him (I follow Euro B-ball constantly long live Macabi Tel-Aviv!) he's a VERY good shooter the only problem is that he can go anywhere from a top 10 pick to a 2nd round.
Its up to Thorn to decide which pick to use on him.

Looks like we're scouting the international wing projects wouldn't suprise me if Kiki's next in France to scout Batum .

And no they're not similar to Bargnani they're no shooting bigmen .

Bargnani is a better shooter from long range... Gallinari is a better player.

2nd round?!? You'd be lucky if he's available around the 10th pick... but i think he's a Top 5 pick so out of NJ range.

Gallinari is a point forward comparison is between a european Lebron James and Hedo . Both not bad .

He's 6-9/6-10... He's a good shooter like many euros... can shoot static or off the dribble (he needs some work on his "in-between" game)... but mainly he's a slasher... he loves to take guys off the dribble and drawing fouls (he's in the top 3 in both Euroleague and Italian League)... can finish with the contact thanks to his good strenght for his age... was a PG early in his career so has nice ball-handling... can pass the ball well but in his team he's mainly a scorer... he can become a point forward ala Hedo... matchup nightmare at 3 and 4 positions (but he has to improve his low post moves)... athleticism is decent (good for his size) but nothing extraordinary and may be the only concern about his NBA future... but he has the tools and the BB IQ to succeed anyway.

Sounds like the guy we need off the bench...good shooter and a slasher to boot. We need someone that can hit their shots and score to boost the bench

looking at that website, gallinari's weaknesses are the same as our teams' weaknesses: cant really defend on the perimeter, cant shoot 3's consistently, no post up moves... BUT i would love to have a paesano on the team, id buy that jersey the second he signs .. FORZA ITALIA

This kid looks like the real deal.

Plus he is only 18!

A lot of room for improvement and he is already looking like a Euro-Star.

On top of this he is 6'9-6'10 and he is easily still growing.

If we don't make the playoffs and wind up with maybe the 9th-10th pick this is definitely a guy we would want to move up to get if he was still available at maybe 5-9, all depending on if that team wanted to trade, maybe for our pick, the Dallas pick and Sean Williams.

Definitely reminds me of Hedu Turkoglu, or maybe even Paul Pierce if he winds up reaching his potential, although his outside shot is not nearly that good.

Even like a less athletic Caron Butler.

I think calling him the next Euro Lebron is putting way too much pressure on him, and he is not the athletic freak Lebron is.

At worst case scenario you get the next Boris Diaw or at an in between maybe Stephen Jackson minus the headcase.

The more I hear about this guy, the more he sounds like the former Bull. Good call on the Pierce comparison as well, 4pres. They both have the ability to breakdown a defense and draw fouls, not with their blinding speed, but with precision, b-ball IQ and footwork. In that way, he als reminds me just a little of Larry Legend...

You know, I was thinking of the Bird comparison myself, but I didn't want to get outlandish, such as the Lebron comparisons.

You know, Kukoc might be a very spot on comparison.

I forgot all about him, I think a lot of people do. Matter of fact I think a lot of people forget how good Kukoc actually was, and the fact that he was already pretty old when he came into the league.

You know all lotto picks are always a gamble, but at least this kid seems like the absolute worst he would do is to become one of the better 6xth men in the league.

Edit: Just checked. I was wrong, Kukoc was only 25 or 26 when he entered the league.

I don't remember his stat line, but I remember him being a good player.
Probrably a better rebounder.

I might be reaching, but, what about comparing him to Dino Radja?
