It is a very real possibility that neither the Mavs or the Nets will make it to the post season...Soooo...

Three questions:

1) What happens with those draft picks if the Mavs don't make it to the post season?

2) What happens to those draft picks if the Nets don't make it to the post season?

3) What happens to those draft picks if neither the Nets and Mavs don't make it to the post season?

nothing depends on whether or not the nets make the playoffs

the 2008 mavs pick is lotto protected and the 2010 pick is unprotected so if the mavs miss the playoffs this year then the nets will get the mavs 2009 and 2011 unprotected picks

1- If the Mavs DO NOT make the playoffs, they keep their pick and both ours (Mav picks from the Kidd trade) gets pushed back a year. If Mavs don't make it next year either, we still get their pick, regardless.

2- If Nets misses the playoffs, I am hoping its a 8th or 9th overall.

3- Mavs keep theirs. Nets never traded theirs.

I layed everything out to the best of my ability in that thread.

This trade would have been even better if the 2008 pick was unprotected. Who would of thought Dallas could fall out of the playoffs this year.Noway they miss the playoffs 2 years in a row it would have been so perfect for us
