Marcus - Combo Guard?
Since he has now played PG & SG, do you think Marcus could become our Combo Guard off the bench. He has greatly improved on his shooting and his passing is great at this point of his career. I still think we need a sure thing shooter in the draft, but I think Marcus has become a pretty good Combo Guard.

I still don't think so. It's a new role for him, so it's early for me to say he can't in the future.
He looks like he could be a shooter at times mainly because opponents aren't guarding him. He'll need to keep showing it when defenses decide to pay attention to him. And at the same time, not take bad shots.
He's looking a bit better recently... but it's been too small sample of games.
Of course his poor defense ... along with the rest of the team's defense, is a problem, and work in progress.

I see Marcus as a very important part of our future.
Besides his suspect D, and his sometimes over-zealous ideas to thread the needle, turning into a turnover, he is beyond an efficient back up PG.
Great playmaker, very good 3 point shooter, and despite his lack of quicks very creative in the lane and off the dribble.
This is on top of the fact he is very young.
The only reason I see him not being a big part of our future is when his contract is up, if some team wants to take a shot with him as their starting PG and throws him a lot more money than he is worth, and we don't match the offer.

I like marcus as a acombo guard mainly bc he can't play any defense as the point guard. When he's in there with Devin, Harris can guard the better player.
He won't be part of the future because the coach doesn't like him.
Personally I think he's got a bad attitude.

The Pillsbury Doughboy works out quite well as our back up PG, maybe he'd be even better if we had an actual coach.

He needs to drop some weight and get quicker and more explosive off the ground. He's got good handles but he's not quick enough to maximize that advantage. If he got more in shape he'd be a better finisher around the basket because he's not very good there right now.
I'm rooting for Marcus though...always have.

I think Marcus' ball handle is quite underrated, there have been instances where this kid has crossed the absolute dog mess out of a couple players and gotten into the paint. If he took better care of himself he'd be able to do that a lot more and also finish those lay ups he comes up short on.
A summer at fat camp would do wonders for Marcus

Marcus is definitely not a combo guard or a shooting guard. Maybe I'm more traditional in my thinking but when I think of a SG, I need someone who can consistently shoot the ball or consistently score off the dribble. Marcus does neither of these consistently. He has improved from 3 this season but its still less than 40% as is his overall fg%. Thats not what I'm looking for in a SG. Look at the other SGs in this league...would you put Marcus in the same category as them with respect to shooting or scoring??
I see Marcus as a backup PG for us and possibly a starting PG on other teams. He plays well in the half court but you rarely see him leading the fastbreak. Biggest criticism on Marcus, aside from his defense, is that he falls in love with his scoring. Maybe its the role he is asked to play on this team but he needs to focus more on getting his guys good looks and easy scoring opportunities (especially the bigs).
Devin on the other hand can possibly play some combo guard because he can score off the dribble. He needs to improve his shooting though cause its piss poor.
