Mark Jackson to NY?
I've said it for months, we need to jump on Mark Jackson as our coach. With Walsh going to NY, we're going to fall asleep and miss out on this. I truly feel Jackson will be a great coach in the league for many years to come; we're stuck with Frank and NY will offer him a deal he can't refuse, book it!

I've never been on the Mark Jackson bangwagon ,just because you've been a good player / PG or are a good color commentator doesn't mean you're a good coach .
And for Jackson going to New York right now would be a mistake going to that situation ( and it won't be much better next year ) as a rookie coach could end his coaching career very quickly.

he was a great PG. Floor general, leader, one of the best. He can relate with the players, tells it like it is in time of need...He's criticized the players and the coach on many occasions this year, we need someone to hold these people accountable, Jackson would do that.
I could argue the other side of that story...Mark Jackson could go to NY, become the coach, and look like a savior. I agree the NY situation isn't good right now, but things can turn around quickly. We shouldn't let one of our own get away from us, is my point.

i dont konw if a guy w/no coaching experience is our answer... if we're getting a new coach i would prefer a known quantity.. .thats not to say mark jackson wont be successful, but we just dont know... and i wouldnt call mark jackson "one of our own", he was born in ny, played college ball in ny, and played for the knicks... he broadcasts our games most likely cuz either msg didnt even offer or yes offered him our #1 analyst slot and more $

If you're willing to pay Frank the money he still gets if he's fired then Thorn might consider replacing him but wasting money with aquiring a new coach right now won't happen .
If our Roster would be better this season i would agree replacing Frank but it is just not a good enough roster to compete for anything more then the playoffs . And with all the distraction and the Kidd situation even that failed . Some things just haven't panned out .

key word being assistant, he is a great assistant coach, IMO. He's not worthy of a head coaching job in the NBA -- college, maybe.

I think he would fit in great with this team. A newly-acquired PG who he could take under his wing and mold into an elite PG. At one time was a a teammate of VC, they're good friends and Mark has no problems calling out players, he's a person who could hold VC accountable, similar to the Butch Carter days. A new insertion of blood at the coaching position could light a fire under this team, similar to what happened when Frank first came here. I understand this is unlikely, but my point is, Mark Jackson will be a great coach someday, probably soon.
As far as Frank goes, if we stick with him until next year -- and we're off to another slow start, he's a goner. If not, blackmail city.

Frank isn't even good enough to hand the players gatorade cups during time outs, nevermind being an assistant coach
