Thorn Ready To Shake Up Nets

On the front page it says Thorn's most likely to trade RJ, Marcus Williams
and that KVH has 2 non-guaranteed years left teams might like.
He also has 3 draft picks, free agents and cash (Rat don't be so cheap) to use.

Thorn thought he put together a team that would extend the Nets' postseason streak to seven straight years in the playoffs. When he was foced to trade one very important yet disgruntled piece, Thorn thought he had assembled enough to make a run. It didn't happen.

Thorn you did, it's the coach fire your boy.

I'm ready to let go of marcus at this point. Marcus is not the pg of the future for us anymore and having him come off the bench for the rest of his career is just wasteful.

I've been ready to give up rj for 2 years now.

The culture of the nets is just wack now. It's more like a club than a professional team. fire the coach and shake up the players' perspectives a bit.

I think that's the keyword right there... I didn't say it until now but I was a little disappointed when the Nets acquired Devin Harris because I knew that would mean Marcus would never get his time to shine as a Net.

The thing with Marcus though is that last summer he seemed to make great strides in his conditioning and jumper (the progress on his jumper is evident in his 3pt% this year) but his broken foot threw everything off for him...

I'm willing to add him to a trade since the Nets are committed to Harris now, but it might be wise to wait at least another year with Marcus and allow him to get his value up. At the very worst waiting for his rookie contract to expire and then signing and trading him could be a viable / better option at this point...

(On a semi-related note I'm making an excel spreadsheet / list where I evaluate the trade value of each Nets player, so look for that this weekend)

You guys are getting way to worked up over this.

This is a transition period and whether you like it or not, this team is building for Brooklyn.

As long as we're building a nice young core (that fits around LBJ ), that's where our focus should be.

Essentially, when you see the three-four years it's going to take to move to Brooklyn, hopefully we can get three-four more lottery picks to go along with Swat, Harris, Boone and our firsts this year (maybe RJ?) and be ready to go to war.

Until then I wouldn't be worried about the state of our team. Sure it's in flux right now, but at least our franchise isn't getting taken away and moved to OKC... it's just right across the Hudson
