If Thorn Has His Eye On a Special Someone....NY/NJ

Post#1 » by #1KnicksFan » Tue Apr 29, 2008 11:05 pm

#5 for #10 and #21 (and possibly #40 as well).

What do you think?

(I know this has been posted before)
If lee is worth #12 then Ron is EASILY worth #5. Sooo...how about:
Malik Rose/#5 for Ron Artest.

Well lets wait for the lottery before anything . Thorn somewhat stated he'd like to trade up but you never know whats going to happen.

Would you be willing to throw in #40?

(I think it makes it completely fair).

I don't know but i think they'll look to add someone one dimensional ( jumpshooter f.e. ) with the 2nd that can contribute a bit .

A future second or a minor expiring like Ager is very possible but i think they'll look to use the 2nd rounder.

Hmmm...

Yea the minor expiring does nothing for me, but the Future 2nd is probably a necessity here.

If you look at past trades of this nature, usually three picks are traded for 1, such as when Deron Williams at 3 was traded for the 6th, 27th, and a 2nd rounder...

I like Gallinari, but I think we could fill more needs with three picks. Then again, I don't expect much from this draft...

It's tough, but I don't think it'll happen. Thorn's not the risky type in the trade, especially in the draft. I don't think NY will ever trade their lottery pick, especially what's been going on the last two drafts.

The only guy I would trade up for is Gordon and I would need to see his measurements first.

Wasnt there a rumor that if Zeke got fired, Dolan would like to revisit this VC deal.

I doubt Walsh would go for it, but if Dolan pushes you never know.

If the knicks get 1-3, I say do it. VC and Dallas pick for 1-3 pick.

If we get 1-3, FORGET ABOUT IT!!!!!!!

Why would we have to throw in the Dallas pick?!
Top 1-3 pick or not, VC is a top 20 player in this league, and when he feels like it he is top 5.

Oh yeah.
There is that little thing in this league called matching salary, so we would have to take on contracts as well, even if one was expiring.
Say Q Rich and Jerome James.
Or Q Rich and Jarred Jefferies.
