marcus has got a mixed opinion on this board he is talented... but there is no way he will be good unless he leaves nj he needs a change of scenery... he doesnt care about the game and is a bonehead, he chucks up horrible shots, and turns the ball over too much, not to mention he couldn't guard a 3rd grade girl

if it's for sean. then no. if marcus. i'd sit there for days thinking and then finally do it. With Hedo we could either let him expire or keep for that outside touch we're dying for. win-win.
Marcus will get nowhere playing 20 minutes a game for the rest of his career. do us both a favor and let him have an actual career.
Rj can just plain go.
Cook and JJ...whatever. maybe RJ for Hedo striaght up.

I wouldn't do this trade. Hedo's a good player, but since he is an expiring, they'd have to extend his contract which negates most of the savings (leaving you with RJ for an older and inferior wing).

Hedo's only a year older then RJ, and his extension would come cheaper.
I like Hedo a lot. Very good all around player.
I wouldn't really be looking at this like a salary dump trade, just a talent for talent shakeup.
I would at least entertain a RJ for Hedo and Orlando 1st rounder swap, if that 1st rounder helped us move up in this draft.
Not that this draft is that great, but at least if we do the 10 and 21 for maybe the 7 type of deal(all speculative) we still have a late one.
Or maybe we can trade all 3 together and move up much higher.
Too me there are only about 5-7 guys worth much in this draft at absolute most though.
But again, this trade would basically be a player for player swap to shake things up, as Hedo is not a huge drop off in many facets of the game and is a big improvement in others.

If I were a Nets fan I'd love the idea of trading RJ for Hedo, the JJ for marcus is basically a wash.
I've been a big fan of RJ since I met him when he was in high school and I was in Jr High and we played in the same bball tourney. Well I think he played, he was in and won the dunk contest, that much I know for sure. He Jumped right over Phx Mercury player Michelle Tims standing upright to win it. And was great to all the kids including myself asking for his autograph.... although he was rather boastful, proclaiming he was the man we all came to see. But then again it was true.
And when u guys traded for him on Draft Day I was telling everyone how you robbed Houston.
All those pleasant memories aside, Turkey-Glue(might have mis-spelled that) is a very good player, while RJ is a very good player that relies on his declining athleticism. Hedo is more clutch and has the kind of game that can continue to flourish as he progresses in age and experience becomes a greater asset than athleticism. Not that RJ doesn't have a few very good years in front of him but lets face it, the Nets will not compete for a title anytime soon barring a major trade/free agent signing.
Not to mention I think RJ would be a perfect fit in Orlando, they need a slasher to contend, ideally Marion (too expensive w/ Rashards contract), but RJ could fit the bill. I'd get rid of Lewis before Hedo but nobody wants that contract.
Just my opinion, maybe I'm wrong.
