Trade: NJN/GSW

Just curious if this would interest anyone:
Stro
KVH
Boone
#10
For
Harrington
Wright
#14
Warriors can save my life and draft Jordan while #14 is prime for us to take Speights or Arthur. I don't think it's the greatest deal for GSW considering they're giving up Harrington (who lost his starting position for a while last season) but I think it'd give us a decent line up.
Just a thought. I don't love it but I don't hate it either.

I like this.
How about Pietrus? What do people think about him? S&T?

Well he can't be in the original deal since it'd be a S&T. I personally always thought he'd be solid. If we shipped out RJ for someone and still had Stro on the books, I'd be down for an S&T of Pietrus for Stro/Fillers. I think Pietrus just wants the MLE and be on a team where he is a starter. If RJ is gone, I'd call GS and get a deal done.

RJ, Boone, KVH, 10
for
Pietrus(S&T), Harrington, Wright, 14
depending on how much Pietrus signs for, I'd do it as long as salaries match.

This deal is horrible! Please run down the positives to this deal where you give up a 6ft 10in player in Boone.

I'm wondering how many people have to say it under everyone understands it. When you do a S&T for a player, he can't be packaged with others. Pietrus can't be involved in this deal.
And for defending my original deal:
Harrington can play the 3 and 4. Harrington moves up to the 3 when RJ is not on the court and moved down to the 4 when he's there. Al is 6'9" and have a better offensive game than Boone. I put Boone in the deal because I thought they wouldn't dream about giving up Wright unless a guy like Boone was coming GS's way. Wright can run the floor and could be fun on a team like the Nets. Also, we'd be trading down if we knew Speights would be there or possibly Arthur if he doesn't move up with his work outs. Speights is younger and honestly more polished than Boone and is just as good a defender. Arthur would fit better than Boone as well. He's one of the most NBA ready big men in the early part of the draft honestly. Only thing we'd be losing is shot blocking which I'm sure S-Will could pick up the slack in that anyway. I really don't see why you're crying over the loss of Boone here.
Al's contract also expires at the end of the 09/10 season.

Harrington's ok but Wright's a skelton in high tops.
Replace him w/ Matt Barnes and I'm down.

omg people get off boone's ****! He's a nice player but when you want to reject a trade for someone like wright who's potential is FARRR greater than boone will become, it's just taking the boone love too far. You're better than that haha.

Okay he is 6' 10" and what 150 lbs. And you already have Swill. Outside of the cap relief there was no basketball significance to this deal.
None whatsoever!!!!!!!

I can see its me against the Netsboard on this issue. Boone is the second player since Nenad that has been developed to this point with room to make further improvement.
Personally, I trade up and not laterally, Why do you think that people are making suggestions on different players to add or change. The deal is weak!!!!!!!!

Dude, one person mentioned Pietrus, then the other threw a half assed deal together that isn't even legal because of a Pietrus S&T. Then someone tossed Barnes out there. Look in any damn trade post. Everyone starts tossing names around seeing how you can fleece a team. You make it sound as if they're like "Oh damn, this trade is weak, but if we can somehow get GS's entire starting 5 for Boone/Stro/KVH/Hassell/#21/Dallas's 2010 pick then this trade would be awesome and fair." Cause that's how you make it sound.
I'm sorry. Al can play the 4. He's clearly an upgrade from Boone in basically ever facet of the game. Oh sorry though, he's 1" shorter than Boone. Al has the same measurements as K-Mart and he played the 4 just fine for us if I'm not mistaken. It's a 2 year experiment, he adds some great athleticism and skill to our starting rotation, we'd add Wright who has the same upside as S-Will and we'd move down to 14 where there is a realistic shot at Speights who basically is a better version of Boone. Bottom line is if Al doesn't pan out we either has a 10 million expiring after next season and a front court loaded with more potential than Boone. But you'd seriously rather have your front court look like this if we didn't make this move and went into the season like this:
Krstic
Stro
Boone
S-Will
Jordan (probably best available at 10)
or
Harrington
Krstic
Wright
S-Will
Speights
I'm sorry even with our front court bench being unproven, I'd still take the bottom list over the top every day of the week. At least Al is gonna give you 30-35 solid minutes per game so we only have to worry about the 5. In the upper list, at this point, we are the same lottery team we were this past season unless S-Will has a miraculous boost next season. It wouldn't be due to Boone's 8 and 8 a game. I am actually very high on Boone but be realistic man. You're not gonna see him dropping 16 and 8 next season or anything. If Al works out and we can at least be competitive, then it's a great deal. If not, oh well we're at the same spot your line up would have been at only we have a $10 million expiring of someone who has some value (because he's actually produced in the past...as opposed to Stro's expiring). Not a total big deal because most of the deals for the elite PF's are all pipe dreams (see: JO/Brand). Start making a list similar to guys like Al though because unless we complete strip the team and ship RJ out, guys of his caliber are what's coming to New Jersey.

I'm amazed that some people are so against the original trade/Brandan Wright.
I like Boone, but considering the talent and potential of Wright, this is a no-brainer.
The bigger question is why would Golden State do this trade. Are they that desperate to save money that they would dump Al for expirings? Since if anything they are losing out on the swap of young talent.

uhhh. what? This deal as in the one where Al harrington is involved? for Boone? Al is a poor man's Jamison. Boone is just a poor man's poor man.
