Hey no one has mention this.
With all these young players, the fact that all these players are more offensive minded, and Thorn has really talked about developing our young players, This may mark the end of the Frank Era.

Re: Another Positive about Draft Day 08
I don't think so, if anything I think Opie gets a free pass. Nobody expects us to do anything significant. Now that Rod has publicly said were rebuilding I feel Opie is going to our young guys plenty of minutes to develope. I think we might as well get used to having him here, upper managment seems to really like the guy. This may even help him evolve as a coach we'll just have to wait and see.
My biggest concern with this situation is when we do turn this thing around will Frank be capable of coaching a champianship caliber team to go all the way? Then you look at Doc Rivers, the Celtics fans were calling for his head too not to long ago. Thats one reason I was glad to see Boston win it all. It gave somebody who's last name was not Jackson, Pop, Reilly, Brown a ring.

I mentioned this a few weeks back. It's the double-edged sword with both ends aimed toward Nets fans. Last year even with Kidd, most people gave us late seeds or missing the playoffs. Players and front office liked him so it was impossible to get rid of him. With Kidd and RJ gone and our recent moves to signal rebuilding, Stone is right that Frank is given a free pass. We're rebuilding and our expectations are low. Front office will just say Frank's just doing the best with what's given to him.

Sooner or later, we'll have to stop looking at Frank and starting looking at Rod Thorn.
He hired the man and continues to provide him with teams that ultimately give him an excuse as to why he shouldn't be fired yet. When we hear the same line of excuses from Thorn next May, he won't be covering for Frank he'll giving us an indictment on his imcompetence.

Ratner knows Thorn's plan: The 2010 Free Agency Season. He's not going to fire him before then. My stance is that it shouldn't matter if this team's rebuilding ended in 2 years or 4 years. The team's window closed and we needed a rebuilding period. So far on this situation, I support the front office's decision to rebuild (Although I've yet to fully comment on the RJ-Yi trade, which I'll need a significant amount of time to really judge Yi). We're rebuilding so we might as well keep Frank. Do I think we should look for someone better? Sure, if that coach will play the young guys much better. But so far, that list of candidates is pretty short.

I say get rid of Frank he should've been fired last year.
Thorn's giving him a chance fo some reason but he can't coach offense that's the reason he should be fired. He won't let players do their own thing it's set play after set play frustrating.

I agree with you guys. Frank might get a free pass this year, but as the year comes to a close, I think a change will happen.
1- If Harris, SWill, Boone, M. Will (if he is here), and even two of the draft picks dont improve, I think Frank will be on the hot seat. Thorn has said it. Player Development has to improve.
2- If King James is coming to his County, a Jester as coach doesnt cut it. A big name coach with some history has to be in place for 2010.
3- After this year, Frank would be in his last year of that BS contract. So it would be easier for Thorn to swallow that money.
So Frank maybe safe for awhile, but I think he will be on the hot seat sooner then people think.
