Why aren't we targeting Corey Maggette ?

Post#1 » by isekii » Thu Jul 3, 2008 3:03 pm

According to rumors, San Antonio is targeting maggette for the MLE.

Why aren't we targeting him ?
I think for the MLE he would be a great player for us.

Plus if for whatever reason he doesn't fit in, we can always trade him as his services for the MLE is a bargain.

who would you rather play for the rebuilding nets or champion contender spurs, if we offer him that it's different than them offering him that, the sixers i think will get him because there looking at sf and they're not going to get josh smith, sixers will offer more money to cm

There is no reason to spend the full MLE at this point unless it is a player that is going to help us long term. Maggette is a short term fix.

I dont have a problem with that. However, they do need future parts that can be had. I wonder do they think that Yi is the solution at the PF spot? This picture is still a little cloudy!

IMO if you look at the way the team is structured, they are adding bigs that can shoot.

IMO Yi will be an asset in many ways.

1- He is a talented player that can be productive. From the clips, he seems semi-athletic.
2- He will help with the Asian market. If I am right I think there is a big Asian community not to far from the Meadowlands.
3- He might be another factor to attract YAO. Yeah I might be stretching this but anything is possible.

Maggette will only agree to the MLE if a contender is offering it to him not a rebuilding team.

Why spend the MLE on Maggette when they just traded away a better player in Richard Jefferson?

why would maggette want to come to the nets? i think thats the difference. the nets are rebuilding and preparing for the summer of 2010, maggette wants to win (i think).
