Trade Vince To Seattle

http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.ph ... id=4709556According to ESPN insider The Team Formerly Known As The Sonics (aka TFKS) is looking to make trades but not sign free agents. It seems like they want to use their "Big Chips" Marshall and Wilcox's expiring contracts. It also seems if Kevin Durant doesn't want to play for this team anymore. Kevin has team options for the 09-10 season and the 10-11 season.
It would work if we trade Vince (who is a player form a Clay Bennet.....greedy and an @$$hole) along with the exception from the Kidd Deal to TFKS for Wilcox, Durant, and Marshall. Then after this season Marshall and Wilcox are gone (11 mill off the books) after 09-10 we drop KD, and we are left with 15 million more to throw around that off season!!

Sound like a good idea. But lets wait one more year. Lets see if he can get better. We should keep him for one year to sell tickets. And after this year give him away, and sign LEBRON JAMES IN 2010! YEAH

^ So you are saying if there is a possiblitliy for Seattle agrees with this trade, which would never happen, you would say ---Nah! lets wait a year and sell tickets.

Here is the problem, yes Vince will put fans in the seats in Seattle...but it also means that the only people showing up to Nets games are Jay-Z/Beyonce and Opie and Marcus' mothers.
I honestly do not believe the Nets will EVER trade Vince unless they're getting a guy who will put as many fans in the seats as Vince still does unless he's in the last year of his contract.
This basically means, Vince is a Net unless he pulls something like he did in Toronto or we get an offer we can't refuse.

If this team sucks (50+ loss team), combined with the pending move to Brooklyn and the dealing of RJ, no one will be showing up to games regardless of whether Vince is here or not IMO.
I doubt Vince brings in enough revenue for NJ to be better off
financially with his salary completely off the books in 09/10, even if it meant little more than expirings coming back in return.

^ I agree. They are losing money every year. I am not a great businessman, but isnt there tax right offs for loses. I may be definitely wrong.

Trust me a team with 50 losses with Vince Carter will make more money than a team with 50 losses without a recognizable star...which is why I'm 100% possitive the Nets will never trade vince carter for just roll players and picks.

Will it make more money? Yes
Will it make enough extra money to justify the cost of his salary the next 2 seasons? I'd lean towards no.

All honesty, I would prefer a completely young team like portland to then a team lead by VC.

Oh, so Kevin Durant is unrecognizable. Most Nets fans don't like vince, so they don't go to games JUST to see him. My guess is at this point with how Vince hasn't shown up in the playoffs for NJ Durant would be a bigger draw than Vince. This is coming from a former team employee and a season ticket holder..the fans don't like or come to see vince!!

Seattle would NEVER EVER EVER trade Durant for Vince...which makes that argument moot and unrealistic.
