I know this isn't the most realistic thing in the world, but hypothetically, would it be feasable for us to land him and still have cap space in 2010? Something like Krstic S&T, SWAT, Stro, 1st for Smith/Filler or something. They have a couple open roster spots and are thin in the front court after Horford and Zaza. This gives them a 7-footer who is a good buy if he returns to form and better than Zaza, Swat with a ton of upside, an expiring in Stro and a potential lottery pick. Just curious.

Now again it's a pipe dream but what kind of contract would Smith get and what would that do to our cap? Our line up would be:

Harris/Williams
Vince/CDR/Ager
Yi/Hayes/Simmons
Smith/Nahera/Anderson
Lopez/Boone

I'm at work so I can't do the math on how much in guaranteed contracts would amount to in the summer 2010.

Again, this is not realistic. Just curious on everyone's thoughts.

I'm happy to get rid of stro, hassel and auger. I don't care how management do it will take draft picks 1st or 2nd rounds. I'm really more interesting to see how our young bigs go. I think Thorn drafted the two bigs in the first round cos he knows that curly is leaving.
I like Josh Smith but i think hotlanta will be desperate to keep him.
