It looks like done with our roster. Do you guys think we can be a playooff team in the upcoming season. If you do what seed do you think we will get?

We'd have done good to finish higher than the Knicks, and I don't think either team is playoff bound.

Depends if the chemistry is right and don't have serious injuries we'll be at least around 30-35 wins like we've been last year without good chemistry

Top5 pick is in my mind not very realistic . There are enough teams in far worse shape.

I see us counting down the 380 odd days that are left until lebron becomes a free agent.

But seriously I am looking forward to seeing how this team pans out this year. We have some very good young players. Yes i know players take time to gell and I'm not predicting any magical cures or even playoffs for the matter. Just wan't the players to play hard every night and all the young players to develop.
Memo to Marcus if you don't show up to training camp in the best physical shape of your life. then your days are numbered champ.

Yeah I almost laughed when I saw the post saying we're done with our roster. We have 16 guys under contract (when the max is 15) and we still have to resolve the Nenad situation. I personally believe 2-3 people on the current roster (including Nenad) will be replaced by 1-2 guys and then hopefully one more at the deadline

Regardless, we are FAR from done this offseason.

I am going to watch as many games as I can. I really thrilled to see this team. I might go to more games then I usually do. That said, I dont care about the playoffs.

Top 5 pick is what I want. I want a top 5 SG.

Harris
Top 5 SG (2009)
Lebron (Keep the Dream Alive)
Yi
Lopez

Bench
Swat, CDR, Anderson, 2010 1st pick, 2010 Dallas Pick, Boone (doubt he stays), Vet 1, Vet 2, M.Will (doubt he is here)

We can definitely pull off a Hawks like season I'm sure. Remember, the Hawks had a losing record so don't expect much but still can keep our heads up thanks to being in the East.

Locks for the playoffs this year:

Boston
Toronto
Philly
Detroit regardless of their issues
Cleveland
Orlando
Washington barring injury

That really leaves 1 spot and I'd say if we progress well, it's between us and the Hawks, Bucks, and long shot the Heat. I say the Bucks though which leaves us a lottery team.

^^^^ Honestly, I'd love to play our young guys heavily next year to get their feet wet and land a top 5 pick. Take the best SG available, let him develop the following year. Hopefully a few of our young guys will step up the following season enough to entice a superstar free agent to come be the glue to bring all the solid young guys together and then be a force for the following 5-6 years after that.

The Nets will be home, and the media will continue to blow smoke up our butts with the "Lebron in 2010" garbage, and Ratner will continue to play off of that lie to further give more excuses as to why the team is being cheap.

^ Interesting concept. Never thought about it that way.

Conspiracy Theory #

I like it, but Lebron in 2010 will happen. BE PREPARED. I DO BELIEVE!!!!!!

SIC I think this will be the year that the Pistons aren't a top team anymore I can see them being a 4 or 5 seed possibly even lower. Michael Curry? They couldn't do any better? It wasn't Saunders' fault or anyone before him. I also see Philly being way higher, another frustrating season for Miami while beasly develops, the Bulls to make it depending what happens with Gordon and Deng, and possibly even the Bucks to slip in. I've got:

1) Celtics
2) Magic
3) Philly (If Iggy stays and Dally doesn't get traded)
4) CLE
5) Det
6) Chicago (turn around season, thats my prediction)
7) TOR (If JO stays healthy, if not I can see them fighting for 7th and 8th)
8) WAS

9: MIL
10: MIA
11: ATL (10 and 11 interchangable, possibly a tie)
12: NJ
13: NY

i think you guys will sneak into the playoffs. I see Harris and Yi living up to their potentials. It almost always happens when guys with potentials get traded.

I definitely don't think we have a shot this year. Look at the teams that are destined for the playoffs this year. As long as most of those teams stay healthy, I think this may be the first time in like a decade all the Eastern Conference play off teams have a .500 or better record. Do I feel we will be competitive? Yes I do believe that. But I think we'll lose a lot of close games and have a lot of "learning experiences." I'm banking on being a top 5 pick next year and taking the best SG or SF prospect available. If we can sneak into the playoffs in the 2009-2010 season, I think we're on the right track. Then trade our 2 picks in 2010 to move up in the draft or for future picks/cash to conserve some money and free up some more room for the 2010 Free agency. Again, I truly believe we'll be competitive the next two years, but a playoff team next year is not what we'll be.
