today me and three of my friends headed down to the nets practice facility for a VIP breakfast for potential season ticket holders and wow it was amazing. we got there at 8 and were greeted by a smokin hot intern who showed us tot he video conference room. we sat in there for a little bit watchin ESPN on the 50" plasma they had until our rep. came in to greet us. He came with a "goodie bag" for each of us including a nets string bag, a vince bobble head, and 40 packs of wrigleys gum (i guess they are a nets sponser? no complaints here since i always chew gum). then after talking to him for a few minutes the real fun started.
he took us into the practice gym and it was amazing! the lighting there is the exact lightning for the izod center so that when the players practice it will look exactly the same as it would if they are playing a home game. there were also individual bikes that were designed for each player specific weight, height, and training program. there were so many cool things just lying around like an automatic basketball return, the offseason workout and conditiong program, and racks full of medicine balls amongst other things. Then the breakfast started and it was only about 15 people that showed up so we had a plethora of pancakes scrambled eggs bacon and OJ pretty much to ourselves. of course the girl serving us the food was also incredibly hot so that made it even better.
after breakfast we got to listen to the assistant VP of basketball operations (his name was bobby) and chris carlino (sp??) the radio voice of the nets. they talked about the future of the franchise and were very real about everything. no BS from either of them. we asked them a few questions about lebron and while they smiled, they werent able to give us a straightfoward answer on that. they did say however they were looking to sign another palyer this week and that it WASNT going to be darius miles. they also said that if brook lopez didnt fall to them, they would have chosen bayless which is interesting because they have harris and marcus williams (although im not sure his stock is very high with the team). after the Q&A we met the girl in chrage of the dance team and wow is all i have to say. literally THE hottest girl ive ever seen in my life... ever...
when we finished drooling over all the bangin corporate girls we went into the weight room, the trainers room, the lounge room, and the locker room. some things we thought were pretty funny was
- maurice agers locker was all disheveled and they was a half used bottle of visine wedged in between the seat and the wall lol...
- they only have an xbox (not 360) in the players lounge.. seriously how weak is that?
- the bench press in the weight room only had 55 lbs on each side... i guess lawernce frank was trying to get bigger...
- the two eastern conference championship trophies were pretty tarnished looking and definately needed a good polish
- trenton hassell had 1 shoe in his locker... not 1 pair of shoes... 1 shoe
- vc15 had about 40 shoes in his locker
- there was a huge list of illegal substances on the wall.. i guess the sf giants didnt have one of these in their locker room...
- there was also a poster on the wall saying it was illegal to bet on NBA games... wonder when they put that up??
all in all i had an amazing time and if anyone is interested in season tickets contact brian glennon, he really hooked me and my friends up big time. I even got free tickets to the Yankees game on monday and the seats are awesome! we took a bunch of pictures but those are on my friends camera so ill put those up when he gets them online. sorry for the long read... go nets!

Yeah I've been to the practice facility before. I was actually there the day SAR came in to hear the Nets sales pitch a few summers ago. They had it all decorated and stuff and it was awesome. In their locker room they had 4 puzzle pieces on the ground. They had a piece for Vince, RJ and Kidd and were gonna give SAR a piece with him on it to "complete the puzzle." It was really need to see how an NBA team does a pitch to a free agent and stuff. I liked it.

I knew I should have interned there this past summer... Maybe I'll give it a go next summer.

jaybiddyforeal (James),
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I find it hilarious you really enjoyed the smoking hot intern, incredibly hot server, & the dance team captain who was the hottest girl ever & the banging corporate girls hah. I'd be happy just to see cutiepie Michelle Beadle.
Was it only 15 people that showed up for breakfast or 15 people who showed up as potential season-ticket buyers ? If the latter, ouch ! It's kinda sad that the Nets don't get homecourt advantage with their crowds, even with the semi-recent championship runs the Nets still didn't get much homecrowd suppport. I'm in Toronto and even for the non-consequential games the crowds were feisty back in the day...now the crowd's are becoming more corporate as seat prices get more expensive but as they can still be one of the rowdier, energetic crowds in the NBA (see when VC returns, playoffs). You never get that crazy atmosphere watching the Nets play...it's a shame.
lol at Maurice & Trenton's locker space.
The NBA anti-gambling poster was probably put up after the Donaghy mess. That's probably how far Stern's actions probably went. Hope he rolled up some of those poster & handed it out to his refs.
Glad you have a good time. So are you actually going to buy season-tickets or we're you just kicking the tires ?
Anyways, looking forward to your pictures (at least one better be of a intern or server or dance captain or corporate girl...or Beadle).
