Pacers - Nets trade
Hey guys, didnt see a thread for proposed trade ideas so don't flame me if you have one.
IND Trades - Shawn Williams, Travis DIener, Marquis Daniels (exp) 2nd round pick 2010
NJ Trades - Maurice Ager, Boone, Swift
Or
IND trades Shawn Williams, Travis Diener, Jeff Foster
NJ Trades - Maurice Ager, Trenton Hasslle, Nenad Kristic (Sign and trade)
neither are block buster trades but it looks like the Nets could use a third pg/sg and some help at the sf position while the Pacers are looking for help at the pf position where NJ is over crowded.
Thoughts?

Re: Pacers - Nets trade
I'm down for Trade #2. I'm not against Daniels in the first deal, but he doesn't totally fill a need for us since we got Dooling and we'd be getting Diener.
Did you see the Pacers/Nets thread in the trade forum? I listen 6 trades near the end of that thread. Check those out and see if you like any of those more.

Yeah looks like this has already been discussed. I like the idea of adding in Diener for Daniels since Dooling has been signed and Williams was traded. Looks like there could be a trade here that could help both teams.

Re: Pacers - Nets trade
Yes, I would do trade #2 as well. Diener and Shawne are welcome in NJ, and Krstic S&T to Indy (Bird has liked him for awhile) for a vet bigman like Foster should be good for the Nets, the Pacers and for Nenad.

It all depends on what is needed. How is Indy's cap looking next offseason. You guys will be looking at extending Granger and Jarrett Jack (solid pick up by the way I love this kid) at that point right? I think you guys would bite at a Krstic/Swift/Ager package more to open up a little more cap room there. You're pretty strapped cap wise until summer 2011 unless you can move Murphy for a better contract.

I don't think other players can be included with a sign a trade. We can S&T Kristic for other players. But I don't think we can package Players with Kristic.
Will stand corrected.

The second trade is interesting (though what exactly would the Nets do with Jeff Foster?)
The first one is terrible IMO

I almost posted similar trades about a week ago, then I thought I'd pass on Shawne Williams and his troubles -- especially with all these youngsters on this team.

Yeah I posted this on Nets247.com and they said they would rather have just Diener and Foster for Hassell, Ager and Kristic which is fine by me.
The Pacers will actually have some cap room next year with Baston, Daniels, Rasho all coming off the books, if we could get Swift instead of Hassell I would be that much happier. If we got Swift back we would have about 23 mill to resign Granger and Jack which should be more then enough.
I would love to see a deal like this get done, I have always been a fan of Kristic and think he is undervalued around the league. Just looks like NJ is not the right situation for him right now with all the talented young bigs you guys have. Brook Lopez is going to be a monster.
BTW I love what Thorn is doing this offseason for the most part, you guys needed change and you are setting up nicely to be contenders in the not to distant future with or without Lebron.

Re: Pacers - Nets trade
I wouldn't do the first deal...
There was a time when I would have taken Daniels and Shawne Williams, but in all honesty... I want no part of either one of them anymore, not when the Nets have worked so hard to purge the locker room of bad role models and guys with the potential to blowup off the court.*
*With Sean Williams being the exception.
The second deal also doesn't achieve much for the Nets... I would consider it though since despite his off the court problems Shawne does have potential.

Re: Pacers - Nets trade
Sorry...as another Pacer fan....I pass on the 2nd trade suggestion...mainly due to the uncertainty of how much Krstic's injury has truly affected his game while giving up our best Offensive rebounder ( something that we need given the sheer # of shots we take and miss ).
I would consider it if we swapped out Ager ( who we don't need given our depth at the SG/SF positions ) with Boone ( a player that we would need given Krstic's injury concerns ).
Since I doubt that the Nets would send out Krstic with Boone.....then I doubt that either trade would truly benefit both teams.

Yeah we'd definitely try to package Krstic with garbage or Swift/Williams/Garbage. Just from everything I'm reading, I think Boone is off limits unless a deal was too good to pass up. Boone can help us NOW. Sean will take more time to be consistant which is why the Nets are shopping him.

Yeah..that's what I'm thinking as well.....the Net need Boone as much as I think that the Pacers need a player like Foster.
The Pacers do need some additional Frontcourt scoring depth at the PF spot....but not just any help...we need the right type of players that can help us now that have decent Basketball Smarts ( which rules out a player like Swift ) and can be considered healthy and reliable ( which rules out Krstic ).

I would like to swap Boone with Ager too but there is no way the Nets would do that Plus with Kristic, Murphy,Rasho and Hibbert we would be pretty much set at the PF/C position.
Foster(or Rasho) + Diener for Swift, Kristic and Ager is the best I think we could do, I would take it in a second.

Without knowing the extent that Krstic's injury has affected his game and not knowing whether he will return to the player he was before the injury....I don't think that he's worth trading Foster for.

So, New Jersey pulls in head-case players in Daniels and Williams, for what reason?

Re: Pacers - Nets trade
Only one I want is Shawne Williams. I think Shawne didn't really have the best leadership in Indy. Playing with Vince and also his buddy CDR may keep him under wraps and get him to his potential. I'd love life if we could land him.
You're right about Daniels though. He's pretty crazy.

I don't think Daniels was a notorious trouble-maker until he got to Indy. Tinsley sure does know how to brings guys down to his strip-club loving level.

Re: Pacers - Nets trade
When Daniels was in Dallas I actually loved him. He put up decent stats while he was there and I had him on my fantasy team. No complaints. I actually thought when Indy got him he'd fit into their system great. He's kinda just wasting away there. Even still, I don't think he'd be good in our system at all.
