What do you guy what for him?

What would it thak for the Lakers grab Stromile Swift and/or Sean Williams. I see that the Nets have Boone and Lopez to play power forward and center for them. I guess we could send you some cash and some picks for one or both of them. The only reason I'm asking is because the Lakers are then at the Center position.

SF:Odom/Ariza/Walton
PF:Gasol/Powell/Radmanovic
C:Bynum/Mihm?
SG:Bryant/Vujacic
PG:Fisher/Farmar/Yue

I just don't feel safe with Mihm as Bynum's back-up at all. If I'm out of line please let me know. I just want to see where you guys as Nets fans stand.

Williams is too raw to make a difference as a backup center in the West right now in my opinion. I think Boone would be WAY more desireable "now" with the Lakers.

But regardless of that assessment, I really couldn't tell you what I'd want. I like Odom but adding him in to the East but we're already jam packed at guys that can play the 3/4.

I love Trevor Ariza but I'm not giving up Williams for him

I love Jordan Farmar (still wanted the nets to draft him over Marcus Williams that year) but with Harris locked up long term, I don't really see the point until we lose faith in Harris.

I just don't see us being good trade partners. I highly doubt the Nets would let Sean walk for almost nothing like we did Marcus. Best case scenario, the Nets will have 5 1st round picks over the next 3 drafts so I really don't think we'd give Sean up just for a pick anyway.

p.s. You mention Radman here and Nets fans will hunt you down and kill you lol.

The lakers should have signed Kwame Brown.

The Lakers don't have anything we'd like. At this point Rod is looking for Young Swingmen with potential and low draft picks.

The one deal I was able to piece together, if the Nets are willing to "help" the Cavs was:

Nets trade: Stromile Swift (LAL), Trenton Hassell (CLE), Keith Van Horn (CLE)
Lakers trade: Vladimir Radmanovic (CLE)
Cavaliers trade: Wally Szczerbiak (NJN)

The Cavaliers save roughly $6 million+ this year after taking into account luxury tax calculations, the Nets take on roughly $2-$3 million more in salary this year but clear up roster spots and get out from Hassell's contract (which is set to expire at the end of the next NBA season) one year early, as for the Lakers they get their backup center / PF while saving money down the line by getting rid of Radman's contract.

Now the question ends up becoming is are the Lakers ready to part with Vladimir Radmanovic? He often gets a bad reputation and is the butt of many of Phil Jackson's jokes but he really does fit the triangle pretty well and is one of the Lakers better three-point shooters.

On the flipside Luke Walton has 5 years left on his contract so the Lakers might want to get him some more playing time...

That trade is just dreadful for Cleveland.

The Nets would also have to take Chris Mihm as part of a trade for it to work salary wise. If the Lakers were interested in this deal (tend to doubt it), I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Not really Radmanovic is a significantly better player than Wally-Z, and would greatly help the Cavs front line as he can actually put the ball in the basket... He's also a shooter that can actually shoot unlike the so-called "shooters" who are already on the Cavs roster... It's not like his contract is that long either...

Even if the Cavs kept Wally it's not like they'd have capspace to sign anyone next offseason... It's also unlikely the Cavs can parlay him into anything else of worth, unless a team wants to unload a big bad contract like Tinsley or Marbury. The first round "sweeteners" that the Cavs could throw into any deal wouldn't hold any value and it's not like the Cavs have any young players they are willing to spare...

Radmonovic is a dreadful player, honestly a marginal upgrade over Wally, but on a much-worse contract. The expirings by themselves have little value, but expiring did just land them Mo Williams who is a significantly better player than Radmonovic. Vlad would also cut into their 2010/11 cap space.

Can the Cavs' expirings/assets get them an all-star caliber player? I doubt it. But they've already shown that they can get a lot more for expirings than an overpaid backup forward who is defensively challenged and has a contract that goes into 2010/11.

The Cavs wouldn't be interested in that trade. It doesn't matter if that's the best they could do, which I don't agree with. It would be better just to let him expire.

Actually I did a little more research and will have to agree that I could have constructed a better trade, but when you stop and think about it awful moves are what Cleveland specializes at!

So whatre you guys in the market for right now?? I know its a stretch but what about Big Baby and Tony Allen for Williams?

Not a chance in hell. I'd take Allen in a heartbeat before his knee injury. Baby Davis, you'll realize this season is completely worthless. I'd rather have Scalabrine back over Davis.

Fact of the matter is, NOBODY in the Atlantic division would get our young upside guys unless it was a deal we couldn't refuse. Even though you guys are solid, nobody on your roster that is "attainable" interest me.

Now in terms of we're looking for, we're looking for a young guys with potential that can be our 2nd/3rd string PG for now or a guy with upside that can play the 2/3 (not a combo point...a guy who can play the 2 and 3...if he's under 6'6" then I don't want him).

That help clear things up?

MIN could probably use Sean Williams or Josh Boone, since they are young and can play center, and have potential. I'm curious how you think the minutes will split up among your PF's and C's?

Anyway, I have no idea what NJN wants now in trade. I don't see any big holes in your roster, so are you guys looking for anything? A little more cap space? Someone said low picks earlier (which MIN has plenty of), though I've heard others say the Nets have plenty.

MIN has McCants to trade, but I don't think he's a great fit on the the Nets, though maybe he could be sent elsewhere in a three-way. Anyone on Philly (last in 3P% last year, and they added Elton Brand) that excites you?

Nobody on philly that I feel we realistically could acquire interests me really. I'd love Thaddeus but I can't see Philly parting with him...let alone trading him within the division.

As for Minny, why would they want Sean? They have Love and Al Jeff? As of right now, Sean cannot guard a center to save his life to I really don't see what good it'd do Minny. I like McCants but nobody really pops out on your roster I'd give Sean up for. I'd probably throw every piece of garbage trade at you first until you stopped answering the phone then, behind your back, I'd tell everyone that you are the dick in the trade discussions and I'm just trying to be a facilitator lol. Man other GM's would absolutely hate me.

The way I see it, Sean may, or may not, grow into a player that can be very good defensively. MIN doesn't need him to be perfect this coming year -- they are going to lose a lot of games either way. If he can eventually become a strong defensive center, that is exactly what Al Jefferson needs. He was great last year offensively as a center, but he's truly a PF. A three-man rotation of Jefferson/Love/Williams would look good, and provide a lot of different options depending on who the Wolves faced.
