The Nets left New Jersey on a redeye flight Monday, destined for a stay in Paris and then London as part of NBA Europe Live 2008. They'll square off against the Miami Heat in a pair of exhibition games, first at Paris' Palais Omnisport Paris Bercy on Thursday (2 p.m., ESPN2), then at The O2 Arena in London on Sunday (2 p.m., NBATV).

Scheduled to arrive around 7:30 a.m. local time, and a practice scheduled for noontime, Frank relished the early challenge to his players' bodies.

Nets need to become an uptempo team. This half court crap is not going to get them anywhere.

Regardless of how well CDR does today , Frank will find an excuse for not giving him minutes during the season..

CDR looks really good. Great pick up by your team. He has a long career ahead of him.

yup

he is looking very nice out there, his shot style is really unorthodox, but can't complain when it works.

hes playin really smart out there too i wouldn't be suprised if he ends up being the backup 2 guard to vince.

I hope we can somehow still get rid of Hassel and buy out Ager .....

We played well and Vince returned to the court even though he didnt play, I doubt this injury is severe.
Anyway man Nets played really really well, CDR and Devin just completley took over the game.

Devin was amazing.

CDR was outstanding (Especially for his first game).

Anderson was a nice surprise.

Sean with the monster blocks.

Boone showed hustle.

Gill was a VERY nice surprise.

But 1 question......WHY DIDNT OUR BEST DRAFT PICK PLAY?
Seriously Frank better not screw another one of our rookies.

I personally think Lopez had a minor injury and there's just no need to risk anything in pre-season.

well I was most looking forward to seeing Lopez & Yi but hopefully they will get some burn on Sunday.
Nursing injuries but I think Dooling & Najera will really solidify this team once they get rotations down.

CDR surprised me. Seemed quicker than I thought he would be. Nice cut from the baseline in the 4th that showed off one of the options on a "Memphis offense".

SWat's block on Wade was great & so was Boone turning over his palm to slam the ball off a rebound.

Anderson had a few good looks that didn't go down (no boki no boki no boki) but other than that he looked pretty good.

Hassell just looked brutal out there. Simmons was meh. SWat and Swift had some real wtf brick shot attempts.

I see they still have to work out the kinks on both ends of the court. Offense looked like last year's stagnant offense too many times & simple high screen two-man game was killing their defense and rotations seemed slow but hey that's what preseason is for.

I like Devin's ability to score (that nifty one on one behind the back layup/goaltend) but I am going to miss Kidd's pure passing ability/vision this year.

The defense that allowed the open three at the end of the 4th was rather embarrassing considering Frank was defending that exact type of play it seemed. Poor execution there reminded me of last year.

Not a pretty game but for Heat fans Wade seems to be fired up for this season.

The Nets have some depth this year thankfully. CDR definitely was the star of the show. He should get some playing time. Ager and Hasell should not.

I fear Frank will overplay Anderson, but I'll wait to see how he plays the other bigs next game

Well, Anderson certainly has my attention until the next game as does Simmons. I wish I saw the game to get a glimpse of it (As does everyone else here). Looks like Devin also had a very good game.

VC also seems to be fine. "It's just a tweak."

CDR and Harris stole the show. Each were excellent.

Defensive rotations still need work.

Anderson was unimpressive but was were he was supposed to be on both O and D.

SWAT had his moments but had a short stretch where he reverted back to making boneheaded decisions: trying to take a charge when he should have gone for the block, making a couple of dumb fouls being overagressive when he didn't need to be.... Still his effort level was very high. Once the game starts to slow down for him and he recognizes some situations better he will start to come into his own.

Gill is a nothing, don't read into the stats.

Boone looked good all around aside from his one attempt at a post move, but he wisely passed it back out instead of throwing up a brick.

The dribble-drive offense is perfect for this team. It highlights the slashing ability of Harris and CDR while simultaneously creating open jumpers for the big men (Lopez and Yi should love it). It could possibly hinder the development of our young big's post game but I get the feeling Yi is being groomed as a face up PF anyway.

Simmons is solid.

The team still needs work with this offense because they are missing some open passes into the post area.

CDR may just be my favorite Net by the end of this season (or the beginning). He got genuinely excited over a foul shot that his teammate made in a pre-season game. He gave probably the most effort on both sides of any player on the floor. Definitely has confidence in his ability. The comment from Ainge about CDR not being able to play NBA D seems to be way way off base. He has probably the strangest style I have seen in a while, bringing herky-jerky to a whole new level. His mid range game will make him at least a good player in this league.
