Ratner should just admit he lost and allow the Nets to play in the Rock where they clearly belong (preferabley under the Devils ownership).

I was always mixed with the move to Brooklyn. I wanted the Nets to stay in Jersey, but I knew we had a better chance at landing a star if we moved to Brooklyn. If this deal is dead, does Ratner sell? Would Jay-Z sell his shares? Does the team move to Newark or just stay at the Izod Center. It also leaves the door open for the team to move somewhere farther than Brooklyn. The Swamp is The Swamp. We're not getting much attendance as is so a move could still be likely. Despite the marketability of Yi and VC, I still don't see us as a high seeded playoff caliber team (and when we were during the Kidd era, attendance was still low).

I went to the rock for a Bon Jovi concert. Don't all the seats have Devil's logos on them? I know this seems dumb, but if that's true, I wouldn't want to feel like I'm playing in someone else's stadium. It's almost the equivalent of the Jets playing in Giant stadium on Sundays. Granted it's pointless to build a new stadium someplace else if Brooklyn falls through and the logical thing is to move to Newark, I'd just feel like we were putting our tail between our legs. With as much attention around the country that this stadium is getting, I'd feel (Please Use More Appropriate Word) if I was Ratner.

The Atlantic Yards aren't doomed but will most likely be downsized.

ever since the beginning of this plan, nothing has gone rite for the nets, including lawsuits, economic problems, architect delays, BS, whats up w/ the location, its not like they are replacing a foster home with the stadium...

I agree...BUT I LOVE IT =)...sorry the Nets can make it Newark...its a basketball city...rthey just need a chance...

come on man...you're bette than that...If the Nets played at the Rock they wouldnt use Devil seats...
If the Nets played at the Rock they would definitely out sell the Devils in tickets...but either way, there would be no favortism...bullcrap...attention...call it Ratner hype...I'm the first to say as much as I like the Nets better in jersey...If Brooklyn is available, the Nets NEED to make the move ASAP...but if not, its because Ratner bit off more than he could chew and obviously didnt/couldnt forsee the present economic state of the US...even with that said, Ratner still was banking on a lot of maybes...and we're finding out about those maybes now...quite frankly, it doesnt help that the Nets would be #3 on the list of new sport venues in NYC...

Hey, if we can't make it to Brooklyn and the Nets had to move somewhere (which they probably will. I can't see them staying in East Rutherford forever), I HOPE it's the Rock.

Thank god. Maybe now Ratner can sell the team to Corzine, the Nets can move into the Rock, and I can finally not frown everytime I go to a Nets game.

Well Yormark (The Nets' OTHER President and CEO) isn't even interested in proposals that have the Nets staying in NJ.

Did anyone see the new article out today? Goldberg (or whatever his name is) from the NJ Sports & Entertainment whatever said he thinks it's now highly unlikely that the nets will move to Brooklyn because nobody thinks Ratner can get all the financing in place. He says his group plans on contacting the Nets in the future...and this made me lose my breathe:
They would contact the Nets about an ownership stake in the IZOD Center to keep the team in Jersey.
I'm sorry, I'd rather have the Nets move to Seattle before we play another year more than we have to in the IZOD Center. Every damn you survey's come out from players saying that the IZOD Center is like a top 3 worst place to play for players because it's old and garbage compared to all the other stadiums. IF we stay in Jersey, I'm gonna punch a small child if we stay there instead of going to the awesome looking Rock.

Goldberg is from the NJ Sports and Entertainment Authority. This whole thing is on Ratner and Yormark, moreso on Ratner. Goldberg can't control if or where they want to move.

If Ratner can't get his act together in Brooklyn, watch the business man side of him start to look at other cities without an NBA franchise that the Nets would have all to themselves. With the Knicks here in NYC the Nets are always #2 even when they are the better team. Cities like San Diego, St. Louis, Seattle, Kansas City, Cincinatti, Baltimore, Jacksonville, Austin, Pittsburgh, Tampa or wherever there is no other team would love to have an NBA team.
