In this threads, you will find fun ways to dump VC & Hassell

Lets pretend to
really blow this team up.
Your task: Trade both Vince Carter and Trenton Hassell for contracts that expire either after this season or after next season. Yes, I'm just looking for an excuse to screw around with the TradeChecker. No, the trade doesn't have to make much sense.
This trade would give us a payroll around $31 million at the end of the season.

No way OKC does this.
I think LAC, UTAH, Lakers, and a few more places are more realistic.

I would have absolutley no interest in Tim Thomas.
But he is needed as filler.
Mobley makes it a little complicated.
We don't need him, but we would to match salary.
LAC might think this is a little over kill figuring he is actually a very solid contributing player on a semi-decent contract that they have to add in addition to a 1st round pick and their current lotto pick.

First of all, Chris Morris, Hassell doesn't need to be traded. His contract has no effect on our 2010 plan, as the '09-'10 year is only partially guaranteed and will be bought out next summer. Even if we didn't, though, his '10'-11 salary is completely unguaranteed, and we would waive him before the big 2010 summer of free agency.
In a VC trade, we would seek:
1) a difference-making SG/SF under 25 (Ronnie Brewer, Martell Webster etc.)
2) a true backup C
3) a true young 3rd-string PG
4) a young combo forward
RJ nabbed us a mid-lotto bigman and a shorter contract. Best believe VC will net AT LEAST as much.

^ Wait Hassell is only signed through 2008-2009 (this year), with a player option (which he WILL exercise) for 2009-2010. ^
You're confusing me, who's 2010-2011 salary are you talking about?
