No more easy layups around the rim. Brook is a big boy blocking and changing shots around the rim.We had 9 blocked shots, 4 coming from brook(8pts 8brds 2blks)and boone alone.Yi looked great out there 17 pts 6 brds 2blks,He can shoot over anyone and his shot is as pure as 2 guard.VC was really playing hard out there, 21 pts 6 assists 3 brds, i hope he keeps it up.Devin filled it up with 13pts 5 assis 5 brds but i want more from him and i love having Dooling off the bench he really puts his mark on the game.If hayes(14pts 5brds)stays 100 percent and consistant off the bench,I would call him a steal for the NETS cuz he was good b4 he got hurt 2 years ago and he's in his prime.Bobby missed some key open threes that we need him to make but he was active on defense and hayes filled the void off the bench.I know it's only one game but after sticking with this team thru all the HATE ,I don't no about anyone else but it felt really good to get this win on the road against a team thats been together.

I'm still being realistic on this season. If we win 35 games, I think this season will be an absolute success. That's only like 6 games under .500. With the inexperience we have, I think that's a good number. I agree, it was only 1 game, but Jarvis looks more comfortable on the floor than Simmons. It'll be interesting to see if he keeps it up and if Frank inserts him in the starting line up and whatnot.
Regardless, even without Arenas and Haywood, Washington is a solid team and we worked our tails off to win that game. It all trickles down from Vince. The game was close and Vince appeared to look pretty focused and determined the whole time. So did Dooling and Hayes. Our vets need to keep that focus and drive because it keeps our young guys motivated so they don't let the vets down. The day we lose this focus I feel is the day we ship Vince out. Regardless of that, I liked what I saw last night.
I drafted Lopez this year in my fantasy league. Hell he's my 4th center. If he can average 10/6/2 and a block a game, I couldn't ask for more. But I was really impressed. All the rookies made some mistakes, but I like that our team is set up where all of them will play decent minutes to get comfortable.

i like whre the orginzation is going, a yung pg and a deep and talented frontcourt watchout, everytime i think about the Nets, i can see them down the same road as the portland trailblazers...

As the trailblazers???
No disrespect but what has portland accomplished the last few years. Yes they have some great young talent but it hasn't payed out quite yet to make them an example of what we would like to be.
I do agree with you and i'm also satisfied that organization has decided to rebuild. It sucked being an average team these last 4 years.

Whats wrong with us being like the Blazers of the East?
I just made that same comparison the other day on the trade board.
You are right, Portland has not accomplished anything yet, but man they are headed in the right direction, and in a short period of time.
I am not one on the PDX makes the playoffs this year bandwagon, but I do believe they win 42-45 and make the push next season.
If Oden ever comes around they will be scary.
Add to that they have almost too many assets, and a 3 or 4 for 1 trade for a stud PG or SF is probably in the mix within the next 2 years.
They might be taking longer then what a lot of Portland fans want, or longer then what most Nets fan's will want, but they will be a perrenial contender once they get over the hump.

I just think it's kind of lame having a team that hasn't really accomplished anything as our main goal.

I hear ya.
But our goal is a young talented rebuilding team tha a FA will want to sign with, or strong enough that with one decent trade in the near future will be a perrenial playoff team that is truly considered a contender, ala the PDX plan, which looks pretty realistic right now for both of us.

Devin played horrible, he salvaged his game in the end...and with Bobby some of his shots werent far off...the Nets are giving him the green light, within reason, from the corners/sideline 3s...and your 100% on point, you have to be really pleased (with basicallly a new Nets team) to get a road win vs a team like the Wizards in game 1 of your season...
