We get a solid vet to back up Devin and Keyon who can hit the open jumper. We shed over 3 million instantly from the deal. Atkins is an expiring so it's basically the same effect of if we kept Stro all season.

Denver gets another big man that I think honestly could do alright in Denver with George Karl. Hell he'd get more of a chance there then he would here. He's an expiring. Denver needs to shed salary.

It works in the trade checker. Again, not the greatest, but it helps both teams and I'd do it I think.

Apparently hoops hype is wrong. Atkins has a 3.48 million salary next year but only 760K is guaranteed. We can either keep him another year or buy him out and it still saves us money and doesn't hurt the cap for 2010.

I always had a soft spot for Chucky...as long as we put a leash on his 3pt attempts...I'm down...

I mean it makes sense to me. We're saving money, not adding a guy that will take time from the young core and adding in a position we need more depth. I think this could happen or the only other thing I see is if we could land a PG from memphis for Sean. I like Earl Watson a lot but he'd get pissy that he'd back up Harris and Dooling just like he does every other place he's been.

yeh thats not gonna happen....and I didnt realize Atkins just had knee surgery and is still recovering...

Neither did I. Well that scratched that idea for the time being.

The only reason I wouldn't do this is that it would give more incentive for Frank to play small ball.
