Mr. Anderson
I told you guys I would back him...I think we found out he has an a little edge to him...you can definitely say a certain confidence level dwells within this guy...offensively and defensively...I'm a fan...and I think this team needs Ryan out on the floor...vs. Hawks 15pts 5 rebs 1ast 1stl... 3-3 from downtown while shooting 5-7 from the field and 2-3 from the line...

Re: Mr. Anderson
I think he's just a bench shooter that will have good and bad days. That has its value though.

I see him being a lot better than Veal and defintely better than Boki...but I'm just a fan tonight who's happy to see a rook produce in a close game...he has **** load to prove on the NBA court...

I didn't like the pick when it happened, but I'm loving what the Nets are getting from him.
Rich Rane wrote:I'm in this same boat. I thought we messed up big time passing on CDR for him since I saw nothing in him, but a bench shooter, but hey...that's what we need.
to be honest...I thought he was going to be as one dimensional as they come...as far as just being a shooter...I was hoping at the very least he would be an upgrade over Boki...through several games, his skills on both sides of the floor as well as his tenacity has impressed me...

They guy works his tail off from what I've seen and looks like he has a decent IQ to go along with that skill set. Honestly, if this kid has a career like Najera but with 3pt range, I can see him playing 10-12 years in this league.

I think thats a very fair assessment...he has a long way to go, but there is definitely promise with his game...he's a funny guy too...his interviews are enjoyable...

Yeah I didn't like the pick either, but the more I read and watch him, he seems like a solid roleplayer. He's just a guy who knows how to play basketball. And that's not a bad thing.

Haha yeah I've read a few things about him and he seems to be as funny to me as Scalabrine was...only more talented. I agree that I thought it was a stretch when we picked him. I was yelling at the TV to draft CDR and was pissed but read about him and decided not to make a judgment before seeing him. Well, in the end we still got CDR, so I was happy at the end of the night. Plus I've liked what Anderson is doing. He makes the most of his time on the court and everything I read says he works his tail off 24/7

Haha man it hurt me to say that. I mean, I have a Scalabrine Nets jersey. Him and Zoran used to provide me hours of comedic enjoyment.

Re: Mr. Anderson
I think this guy has a lot more potential than just a bench role player.
It's funny, because everyone wanted us to draft someone different with that pick.
I personally wanted Donte Greene or Darrell Arthur.
I could see Anderson being a 18ppg 8 rpg career guy in like 30 something mpg and a solid contributor on the defensive end.

Re: Mr. Anderson
17pts 5 rebs ( 2 off) 1 stl
4-5 fgs 3-3 3pts 6-6fts...
I know Ryan hit two late bombs, but another strong game both sides of the floor...

Re: Mr. Anderson
Like Spanarkle said, even though it was garbage time it showed that he has confidence in his shot and his game, that he knows that he can be succesful on this level.

I was lucky enough to catch the nets v heat in france on espn. I said in a previous thread that he looked like a high iq player he just knew where to be. Unfortunately his shot's didn't drop that night.
He looks good.... hope he can keep it up.

Fortunately for us, our FO won't give him a Troy Murphy contract, so we're good.

Re: Mr. Anderson
Haha I can see him potentially being an MLE type salary guy. Maybe like a Toni Kukoc 6th/7th man off the bench, but yeah, role players never get those kind of deals from the Nets. We just overpay our stars lol.

Re: Mr. Anderson
I love this guy.
I wasnt against picking him because I didnt know much about him. I am totally happy we got him.
Yes he can be a starter, but I would rather have him come off the bench. Yi needs to start. Frank needs to use Yi differently and stop benching the guy. Yi needs to be on the court. The guy has some confidence issues unlike Anderson.
