If Lawrence Frank starts to stink things up what do you think about hiring Jordan as the next coach?

I say hire him now. put him on the bench. I dont care if that puts pressure on Frank. We need a better assistant coach anyway. Hill sucks that is why he cant get a head coaching job.

Jordan already knows the organization as well. Granted nobody on our roster was here when Jordan was here, but I imagine he has a good relationship with Thorn. Rod always seems to speak highly of him. I think our team is set up for Jordan to do better with than the Czar would be able to handle right now. I would be ALL for Eddie Jordan being our bench coach. Then we could kick Frank to the curb when Jordan gets a grasp of the team and go from there.

I'm still on the fence with Frank & actually leaning towards the positive on him. No one can question his work ethic & enthusiasm though & this year's Nets locker room is buying what he is selling.

No to Czar - he's done like Lenny Wilkens done...have you guys that are advocating for him seen the system he's run his last few coaching endeavors...ugh. Plod-Plod-Plod zzzzzzzzzzz. (but i'm weird and winning isn't everything to me when watching basketball - actually playing a bit different - but I want to be entertained too)

It is somewhat interesting that Frank outlasted Jordan who was supposedly the better coach of the two. On the general board Mod & Wizards fan miller31time said these things about Jordan (sound familiar ?):

miller31time wrote:Our rotations have been abysmal (he's never been good with rotations but glaringly so this season), and his defensive system, if you want to call it that, has been absolutely dreadful. His defensive style was to "protect the paint" but what EJ either didn't know or didn't care about was that the Wizards set an NBA Record last season for most 3pters given up. And we're well on our way to breaking our own record, this season. It has just been the worst possible idea ever and it's insane that it hasn't been resolved under Eddie Jordan.

miller31time wrote:Not only that but a 1-10 team wasn't giving our rookie center (who looks to be much, much better than expected) enough minutes.

miller31time wrote:EJ obviously felt that the only way to beat New York was to match their size by going with "small-ball", a common EJ occurrence instead of going big and punishing them (which we obviously should have done). It was symbolic of his tenure in Washington, never dictating what needs to be done, but letting the other team do so.

Now if Frank inserts Boone back to the starting line-up all bets are off..hah.

We're not going to hire Eddie Jordan as an assistant coach for two reasons.

For one thing, he's not going to take a step back professionally. His next job will be as a head coach somewhere. He'll take a year or two off until something opens up and maybe do some TV in the interim.

Secondly, he is most likely not on great terms with Rod Thorn. Remember Kidd's meeting in NYC with Rod before the 04-05 season when Eddie was emerging as a blue-hot coaching candidate? Jason asked for Eddie Jordan's contract to say that he would be the next coach - certainly, Kidd did this with Jordan's knowledge. Rod refused.

By the way, Mike O'Koren got the ax too. It's really a shame - they're both great guys.

Please Frank has been lucky so far. Win on a VC off balanced heave to bring it to OT. ONly to win on a back door cut to the rim. VC and Harris has been saving his job so far. The guys sucks. Yeah he is good preparing before the game, but in the game he SUCKS.

I thnk Jordan was on his last year of his contract and they werent going to extend it. Frank has been very lucky to still be the coach here. He should have been gone two years ago.

Be Prepared! I would be really surprised if FRANK doesnt start Boone when he gets back.

He would certainly fit well coming back to this system, although it seems kind of unlikely to me. Eddie Jordan never got a real chance to compete with a healthy wizards lineup. It seems somewhat unfair in my opinion that he ultimately got fired, although a greater majority of that team had given up once Arenas got injured, yet again.

I think Avery Johnson is a better coach, or PJ.

I'd rather have Marc Jackson coach this team.

I just posted similar thoughts on Frank in another thread, I agree...but I do think Lenny and Czar are different...lenny's NBA career is over, barring a miracle...but I think your misthinking the Czar situation...not the greatest coach, but I think he has always had better personal relationships with his players than maybe Frank has had...IMO, Mike has always had the ability to connect wiith his players...but lets not jump to conclusions on what type of basketball he would bring to the Nets...I understand your remarks but I think it has a lot to do with his team situation...the Hawks pushed the ball a lot during his Dominque coaching days...

I agree, Eddie was probably considered the better coach, but I think Ratner/Thorn? really like Opie and back him 100%...

My dream coach for this team would be Rudy Tomjanovich.

Bring EJ back home. Put Frank back at assistant coach.

No to Avery -- he'd be a lateral move.

Eddie Jordan never had a fair shake in Washington with their never ending injury parade and hobbled with Arenas.
