Would You Rather...

... be 6-6 and have your coach, in whom you do NOT believe; or
... be 1-10 and FINALLY fire your coach, so that you can go after a good one?
I'm not trying to flame, but in all honesty, I sorta envy the Wizards' fresh start. Jordan and Frank have been two of the five worst coaches in the NBA over the last couple of years IMO, and short of a catastrophic start to the season such as the Wizards are having, I don't think the Nets FO will get rid of him. If 1-10 is what it would take, I'm not SURE I wouldn't trade our current 6-6 record for it.

I Disagree with you, i'd gladly take Eddie Jordan over any of these:
Sam Mitchell
Mike Woodson
Randy Wittman
Marc Iavarone
Lawrence Frank
Maurice Cheeks
George Karl
Reggie Theus

I agree with Jeff.
I would rather Jordan.
I voted 1-10 just because I want a high draft pick. There is a stip with this too. the young guys get almost all the PT. NO PT for Hassel, Najera, and Swif.

No way I take Eddie over George Karl and at this moment there is no way I take him over Opie.

I'd rather be 1-10 just so it gets us close to firing Frank and having a better shot at a higher draft pick. But Eddie Jordan got a rah deal hear. Their management is a complete joke. They gave Gil a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) deal when he hasn't proved he could stay healthy the last few years, his knee and Haywood's being injured for the year really hurts them. Their young front court players are garbage in my opinion and I really dislike the entire team except Jamison and Butler. There is a reason why they're 1-10 but it's not Jordan's fault.

I voted for the Wizards' situation.
Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that mostly wet-behind-the-ears team is overachieving to a .500 record. But the fact that I do should illuminate just how much I would LOVE to see Frank gone. To jeff's list:
Sam Mitchell - he's a bad fit for where TOR is going, but a good coach
Mike Woodson - hey, he took Boston to 7, we'd likely get swept
Randy Wittman - true, bottom 5
Marc Iavaroni - I would LOVE to have him
Maurice Cheeks - kind of dumb, but in today's NBA, I'd rather have too little direction, rather than Franks' doggedly moronic direction; bottom 10, but not worse than EJ or LF
George Karl - he is a good coach, I'd say top 15 for sure
Reggie Theus -

Are you watching what he's doing in SAC? They are going to be good wit htheir young nucleus and his system

I think we do have a "fresh start" we have eight new players. I am all for giving coach Frank a clean slate and see what he can do. I believe last year and other past years he had to put up with a lot of distractions and yes I am calling J kidd out. Frank was a players coach last season. Now he has a fresh start and an almost brand new team to coach as he see's fit. Although it's very early in the season were suprising a lot of people. Lets see where we are after around 25 games.
During the off season I wanted us to lose as many games as it took to get us a top three pick. Then the season started and we got to where we are now and I'm starting to think I'd like to see our young club sneek into the playoffs. I know its long shot but it would be a great experiance for the young guys.

Lawrence Frank is an average NBA coach not a "bad" NBA coach...

Sam Mitchell - he's a bad fit for where TOR is going, but a good coach
Easily the worst coach in the league. When lawrence frank outcoaches anybody everytime they go H2H that should tell you something.
Mike Woodson - hey, he took Boston to 7, we'd likely get swept
I blame boston for taking them so lightly. Had they played atlanta like they played the lakers, atlanta would have gotten swept. Mike woodson is also one of the worst coaches in the league and had been on the hot seat for the past couple years before that series vs boston.
Marc Iavaroni - I would LOVE to have him
Why exactly?? we already have the worst defense in the league, with this guy it would be even worse while his offensive gameplan would consist of ISO's for Harris/Carter like he does Mayo and gay.
George Karl - he is a good coach, I'd say top 15 for sure
Overrated as a coach...
Maurice Cheeks - kind of dumb, but in today's NBA, I'd rather have too little direction, rather than Franks' doggedly moronic direction; bottom 10, but not worse than EJ or LF
He's lucky he doesn't have an arrogant/selfish player on his team right now, because if he did, that player would probably be the one running the show. He gets pushed around and most of his players don't even take him seriously.
Reggie Theus -

Are you watching what he's doing in SAC? They are going to be good wit htheir young nucleus and his system
What exactly is he doing??
Seeing as he was forced by the owners to give the young guys even more minutes. If it were up to him Mikki Moore would play 30 min+ and would have left Thompson and Hawes to rot on the bench. Besides he starred in Hang time(lol love the show while growing up.. just wanted to give a shout out..)

um you guys are Blaming Frank on just about anything. By reading some of these threads its basically anytime we lose Frank is to blame anytime we win Frank got luck that someone was making shots...His subing is questionable or sucks i can agree with that but he seriously isnt that 5h1tty of a coach.

of course if we had Phil Jackson we would have been undefeated and won 4 rings with the team we have/had

^^Frank is a below average coach, admit it. I like the guy, he's a hardworker that actually gives a crap but his substitution patterns are disgusting an example of this comes from the raptors game.
In the 1st quarter Yi picked up his 2nd foul with like 4 minutes left to go. The sensible thing to have done was take him out because he WAS guarding there best player and the probabilities of him picking up another foul was extremely high. I would have understand if the guy he left in was a veteran type player who knows when he's beat thus not giving out stupid fouls. But yi has 1+ year of experience PLUS he's already a pretty weak defensive player. Why not put in najera who can defend Bosh for the rest of the quarter instead of risk losing one of our better offensive players until the second half which we did since Yi fouled bosh 1 minute later???

^ Agreed.
Frank is good at looking at the video tapes after the fact, but when it comes to in game decisions he sucks.

imagine if we had went after dan toni, this offseason, wow. that would be sumthin, now as much as i dont like frank id rather keep him for the rest of seaon, i always think firing coaches will bring turmoil and upset a lockeroom...

Normally I would speak negative about Lawrence Frank; since he's taken over as the Nets coach, we've seen a steady decline in the team's efficiency on the court. But perhaps it's because Jason Kidd was more of a leader than he was, and when he stopped wanting to play for this team the rest of the team fell apart around him.
But I must admit, I think Frank has done a hell of a good job getting these rookies to play with heart and tenacity, unlike the previous couple of years. With a young core of players like Lopez, Anderson, Yi and CDR, and playmakers like VC and Devin Harris providing examples of leadership through action, I've seen a team with a fire inside once again to win. I know speculating about Lebron's final destination get's old, but the fact of the matter is, with Lebron, a good draft pick for next year (Ideally within the top four), and perhaps another free agent, this team would be unstoppable after a couple of years playing together.

We have a winner!
As tireless a worker as LF is, it doesn't make you a quality NBA coach. He can review tapes 'til his eyes bleed, but it never, ever helps him make those split-second in-game decisions that routinely take away from this team's potential.

I'll take the .500 record if this team was 1-10 Thorn would make excuses for Frank he wouldn't fire him.
