I saw an interesting proposal on the Trades and Transactions board, about moving Carter in a three-way with LAC and CHI, and Luol Deng was the key piece returning to us. Now, I am normally against bringing in a franchise SF on a long-term contract right now, but I think Deng would work well with the "apple" of our 2010 capspace's eye. He also went to HS in the NJ area, so he may help the ticket draw more than most youngsters we would be able to get in a VC trade.
Tell me what you think of this trade, preferably in the linked thread. Thanks.

The Nets will regret this move because Deng has regressed as a player. Why pay a guy so much money when he is not producing? With VC on the roster, the Nets are going to have enough cap space to sign a FA come 2010, so its not a priority to get rid of him. I'd only trade him if the deal makes sense.

I think this deal makes sense. Two years from now, there's a good chance Deng will be better than VC. Plus the Deng/VC swap creates an additional 6 mil in cap space to bring in another complimentary piece.

Deng just isn't that good.
I want no part in him period, let alone in a trade for VC.
I hate this move.
Deng is a poor man's RJ.
I know he is young, but I just do not like him as a player, even if he improves.
