BOSH

I know many of you guys have this infatuation and are still dreaming of getting LeBron in 2010. I also would love to get him but i just realized that maybe LeBron is not going to be a good fit with the Nets and it will just hinder Devin's growth. See... Devin needs the ball to be effective and so is Lebron. Devin needs a solid shooter in the wing and LeBron is not the answer. Anyways, i just think that the Knicks has a better chance of getting him now.

Did anyone of you guys noticed Bosh, Harris and VC at the beginning and at the end of the game? It seems like they are very close esp. the hug between Devin and Bosh. It just feels like Devin and VC are telling Bosh to come and play with them by 2010. I don't like Bosh but man, he is very versatile, he brings a lot on the table. I think that Bosh would be a perfect fit with Devin along with Brook and maybe Vince, if he would still be here. I'm very disappointed at Yi, but in fairness, i didn't think that Yi would be in Boshs' level anyway, i just thought that he would be a solid PF for us, just enough to help us get some wins. It's going to be a hard one as well to get Bosh here because of the fact that he's a Raptor right now. He might get scared of coming here and get treated the same way Raptors fan treats Vince. But i say, who cares! Bosh would be perfect here because we have a better situation and better players like Devin and Brook and draft picks. Im thinking maybe Bosh wants to go back home here in the US and NJ/NY is the best place to go.

Bosh or Amare. I'd be ecstatic.

On the subject of LeBron fitting here though...you think he fits much better in Cleveland? I know Devin needs the ball to be effective, but I think being the next guy wouldn't hurt him as much as it did in Dallas where it was Dirk, then Howard, then to the open shooter, then himself.

I think Amare should be the realistic target. I mean let me put it this way while the Suns are a decent team Nash doesn't have many years left in him and Amare is clearly unhappy of what's going on in Phoenix... The Nets will be able to offer him big money (not as much as Phoenix, but maybe a sign and trade would be viable given that Phoenix is going to have to rebuild a couple of seasons from now and the Nets will have a good amount of young players / draft picks), and pair him with a quality point guard in Devin Harris...

I don't especially love Amare.
Don't get me wrong, I sure wouldn't be upset if he came here though.
I am not a huge Bosh fan either, but I would without question welcome that guy with open arms.
I believe Bosh is a Texas guy and the Rockets and Mavs will have big, big capspace if they shoot for that.
I would prefer we trade for a real solid PF that rebounds well, plats really good defense and hustles, such as Haslem, who would be perfect.
Then, as long as he grows up mentally, we shoot for 2011 and target Melo.

Bosh is a Raptor for life. You can't have him. We'll take Vince back though. Rumor has it you guys want to trade him for Wally Szerbiak (sp?) so you can have cap space. We'll trade you Jermaine O'neal for him and then you guys can sign Lebron in 2010 with the 23 million coming off the books.

^^^^ LOL you're joking right? Cavs offered that and we rejected. Remember to put sarcasm in green!

I think I would rather have Amare than Bosh. Not sure what my reasoning is but I'd want Amare. Bring Yi of the bench, draft a 2 or a 3 this year, and add a second tier player like Tayshawn Prince to fill the other postion.

As far as Lebron not fitting, Please, players have to fit around Lebron. Harris is good, but we are talking about Lebron James. Are u kidding me, 60?

That said. As much as I like Lebron, Amare and Bosh, I really doubt they come play in NJ. I have completely jumped off the 2010 bandwagon. Whatever we get I will be happy as long as we dont overpay players that are not called Lebron, Wade, and Bosh.

I like what I see, besides Frank. We have to hope we get nice picks and hope thorn makes another deal to get a young, up and coming player like Devin.

I can definitely see Amare or Bosh coming to play in Jersey. I honestly believe that in 2010 Amare is moving to the East and would definitely enjoy playing here. It depends with Bosh how his situation plays out. If Toronto and Bosh's relationship starts to strain, we have a decent team full of young guys (Lopez would be great playing next to Bosh or Amare) and an additional incentive would be he gets to play the Raptors a few times a year. How much would Raptor fans HATE us if we have Vince and Bosh on our team.

With that said, draft wise, I'm praying we land James Harden. He's the only player I want right now.

I think LeBron and the Cavs are two players away from becoming a bigtime contender in the whole league. I think LeBron needs another sidekick and another shooter ala old Bulls. With LeBron just being the option right now wouldn't cut it, i know they are playing great right now but it's a long season and great teams hang in there until the last minute, i believe the Cavs wouldn't last long as they go along, they will run out breath and fatigue will kick in. But yeah, for me, they won't blend in well. Remember, Lebron is a great passer and Devin is not a slasher, he create shots for himself. LeBron needs a Pippen with him not a Devin. Devin will be a more effective player, if not scoring, with a shooter and a solid PF or better of, a great PF. I bet they would be a great tandem as well, don't get me wrong, but i just dont think the chemistry will be there because of the way they play the game and the position they play in.

If you are just a basketball fanatic that wants to see great players have great games then you can have LeBron, no doubt about it. But if you are a real basketball fan that loves your team to have the best chemistry and be able to win all the time every year then you try to look for other alternatives and study. Celtics won last year because they have good chemistry and they have good players in different positions. But just like what i said... I also would welcome LeBron, of course, but i wouldn't be head over heels with that notion.

LeBron, Amare and Bosh not coming here? why not? It's not like we're a bad team... i know the arena and the area is kinda bad compare to NY but that's why the management is trying to move the Nets to Brooklyn. And yes, they will all be overpaid, heck, they overpay other players not named LeBron, Amare and Bosh right? If you dont want to overpay then maybe look for someone like Kris Humphries.

I didnt say not to overpay Lebron, Wade, Amare and bosh. I can live with that. I said I hope they dont overpay other second or third tier players.

Why would these guys come here when every team in the NBA besides the Lakers and Celtics are clearing cap space to get a FA in 2010.

Which would u rather play for:
NJ or Det
NJ or MIA
NJ or PHO
NJ or CLE
NJ or NY
NJ or CHI

All these places will have cap space to sign a big FA and arent that bad of a team.

Chicago doesn't have much 2010 capspace, and they aren't a better team than us either.

Detroit and Phoenix could be all-but ghost towns by 2010, and MIA needs to worry first and foremost about keeping Wade (not a certainty).

I think Bosh would only go to Houston (or Dallas, if Dirk leaves) IF he leaves Toronto; we don't have a dog in the hunt for him. Besides, I firmly believe that Yi will be an impact player by then, and would be a great role-player alongside LeTravalier.

so with all the free agents available in 2010 you would take haslem??? thats like headin to mcdonalds for a 99 cent burger instead gettin a big fat steak and a lapdance..... i love saturdays hahaha.

Wow, you guys are idiots calling me out on Haslem.

I am not saying to sign haslem, I am saying to trade for him.

I don't even think he is a FA in 2010.

I am saying basically what SIC is saying, that none of the big 3 are gonna want to play here and even Amare is a long shot and I don't want to overpay for one of the lame 2nd tier guys or sign a 31 year old Joe Johnson to a 5 year deal.

I say wait for 2011 and go after Melo as long as he isn't still very immature.

What's wrong with that?

We need to target Bosh or Amare I think they are top priority. Then we settle for a second tier 2 or 3 depending on our drafts the next two years. VC would be gone. That leave puts us something like

Harris
Harden ?
Prince ?
Bosh/Amare
Lopez

Bench Yi, Anderson, CDR

If Thorn can make something like that happen I would love that. I think for that to happen we need to be set in Brooklyn by 2011. Or we may have to settle for 2 lower tier guys and not land a superstar.
Thats a good start

Please Detroit and Phoenix have loyal fans. As far as MIA, they will have cap space too. To re-sign Wade and an other Big FA. Wade is already in a big market and he likes it in MIA. All they have to do is convince him they are going to sign someone big.

If James Harden is in a Nets uniform next season, I'm going to love life.

nah my friend, you basically said that haslem was the best fit for the nets "a real solid PF that rebounds well, plays really good defense and hustles". you said you dont like amare or bosh AND you would PREFER we go after haslem even though you would welcome bosh or stou to the team. even if youre not intentionally trying to say you would take haslem over any of those two, to bring his name up in the conversation of what big name free agent to go after in 2010 is dumb. also, you wouldnt sign a 31 year old joe johnson but you would go after a 29 year old udonis haslem????
