Dead serious.

Howard's game doesn't really fit in with us right now, but remember what he was before this season. This gives us productivity at the 3 and a spot in the rotation/roster for Sean Williams.

For those of you who are going, "But Chris Morris, how are we going to sign LeBron, who is totally coming to play for us in 2010!!??!?", worry not. 2010-2011 is a team option.

Ok, fine, I know this trade is dumb.

I just want to do something to win right now. I'm impatient.

Keep that Ho away from this team, I know he's friends with Devin but he's a complete idiot... If he can't figure out how to play with Jason Kidd there's no hope for him (also remember his dumb timeout call against the Heat in the playoffs? The one that more or less cost the Mavericks a chance at winning that game...)

I wouldn't trade Lopez for all the tea in china. I would love to have Josh on our team even if he's a wackjob. I'd give up anyone not named Devin/Vince/Yi/Lopez to get him. My reasoning is that he's locked up through the 10-11 season at a decent cost, he could play the 2/3 well so he can make room for whatever free agent we bring in if we wanted to trade Vince next year for an expiring to make a play for a free agent summer 2010.

Just my thoughts, but put Lopez into the equation and I'm gonna pass every day of the week for Howard.

I'm not a big Josh Howard fan. Keeps looking for his jumpshot rather than working the paint. Regressed off the ball and he's been an idiot off the court. No way I'd trade Lopez for him. I don't know too many players I'd trade Lopez for right now. Great contract, massive potential...

Rule #1 for any General Manager...don't make a trade for the sake of making a trade. See Isiah Thomas.

I with NetForce.

Not interested. He seems like a head case or he is consistantly misunderstood.

Already commented on the last thread brought up about Josh Howard. The guy is a cancer. He's overrated and a head case.

Good call. We want our players to have a flawless basketball IQ on the floor at all-times. You know, like Vince Carter.

And please, let's not use playing well with Jason Kidd as a benchmark for anything.

Chris Morris, I share your impatience, but bottom line: WE DO NOT NEED T O GIVE UP BROOK LOPEZ TO GET JOSH HOWARD.

Josh is available for much less. I had a thread a month or two ago, about trading Simmons/DAL1st for Howard, and Dallas fans were ready to sign.

There's a huge difference. We win, we go farther away from a chance at a higher pick. We get Josh Howard and MAYBE he does better than his time in Dallas. Where does that put us? With Brook gone, we give away any form of a low post presence. We don't have a PG to distribute the ball on the break. Devin, as great a PG as he is, isn't going to push the team on the break and he's not going to score every single time on those one-man fast breaks. Not to mention he's injured. Will we win some games? Sure. Will we make playoffs? It's possible. Will we sniff Conference Finals? No. We throw our future for what? A few wins this season?

If we trade for Josh Howard, again I'm not even a fan of his, no way in hell do the Nets trade Brook for him.

At the very least, VC provides veteran leadership. That and talent on the floor. Howard's just...well, we went over that already.

And please, let's not use playing well with Jason Kidd as a benchmark for anything.

Why now? Of all the guys on that team, Howard was supposed to compliment Kidd the best. Tall, athletic, not too shabby in the open court...the type of player a ball distributor loves. Where'd that guy go?

I hope to god that you're being sarcastic. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and presume you are because there is no way known that you can compare Vince and Josh and have Josh come out on top in any area.

Explain to me why exactly we need that pot-smoking malcontent anyway? He's a better than average player at best. The idea of trading Brook for him, well that just makes me think you and J-Ho have the same dealer.

Look I brought J-Kidd beacause here's the thing with Josh Howard when Kidd dishes him the ball on the fastbreak he'll either:

A) Stop and take a jumper
B) Stop bring the ball back out and ISO

For whatever reason he doesn't catch put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. That's just stupid.

The only thing I would trade Broke Lopez for atm is an elite PF or an elite C from a struggling team looking to start rebuilding like Chris Bosh (cant stand that damn dinosaur but there's no doubt he's exactly what we need to get to back to that elite level) any other offer and Im just fine with this semi-competitive rebuilding phase.

Lopez really has almost no ceiling this kid has just soooo much talent and ability, seeing him turn into an all star one day is definately a possibility.
In today's game its soo hard to find effective C's, when you finally find one thats as effective and talented as Lopez you never give him up unless youre offered something spectacular.
