Is Jerry Stackhouse the answer?

I think Jerry Stackhouse and the Dallas Mavericks might be the trading partner the Nets are looking for right now.

Stack has fallen out of the rotation in Dallas and is due $7,000,000 this year and something like $7,200,000 next year the thing is only $2,000,000 of his contract next year is guaranteed...

I'm thinking something like this may work:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &te=&cash=

Ager could be replaced with Sean Williams or Hassell depending on how negotiations go and who wants what and the Mavericks could also throw in Shawne Williams if they wanted to lower salary for this year...

I guess the one big holdup though is whether or not Mark Cuban and the Mavericks are still on talking terms with Rod Thorn and the Nets !

It's something to consider at least...

lol... What I mean was is Jerry Stackhouse the answer to our roster problem? We have a ton of bigs and not enough minutes to go around, Bobby Simmons despite playing well recently does suck and well we could use another swingman in my opinion... So why not Jerry Stackhouse?

His contract doesn't interfere with 2010.

(The title was actually inspired by some of the threads on the Knicks and Raptors board, whenever someone is waived or bought out a thread always pops up where some poster writes "Is (Player Name) the answer?")

lo.. no Jerry stackhouse is not the answer. There's a reason why Antoine Wright gets more burn than he does...

Anybody know if Mike Miller's available?? HE would be the answer...

No to Jerry Stackhouse, he is too old and unathletic for Harris. We need a swingman that will run and Stackhouse has a halfcourt style of offense he will be another vc that wont even keep up with haris with fastbreak situations

Maybe I should have named the thread seriously... I don' think Stackhouse is the answer but I think it makes perfect sense to trade for him due to the way his contract is structured.

I know a lot of us are proposing deals where we send out a big man so why not thin the big man rotation by acquiring Stackhouse?

Truthfully, I don't hate this trade, but I don't love it.
Dallas has to send buyout money for next year, there is no way he is worth 7 mill this year let alone next.

^^He's due 9 mil this year and 9.75 mil next year. He expires in 2010 so he'd be the ideal SF IMO.

Sean, Swift, GS 1st rounder.

For

Mike Miller..

Get 'er done..

I'd think the Wolves could get more for Miller since Sean's value is in the toilet and that pick could end up becoming a pair of 2nd rounders in 5 years. At the very least I think they'd want to rid themselves of Cardinal's contract.

If nothing else, though, this is one of the few deals I've seen lately that is 1.) realistic and 2.) would actually help this team.

I HIGHLY doubt Minny wants to deal him at all, let alone for that terrible package.

You might be right VC4pres but Miller clearly doesn't want to be in Minny it seems like he's refusing to take shots (hence the reason why he's averaging the lowest PPG of his career!)
