Yi Out For 4 Weeks

This is great news. He has been playing ok for 4 games, but he is VERY overrated. Everybody in my section with season tickets hates him, because of how inconsistant he is. We even looked into getting YUCK FI shirts made. Is anybody else happy to hear this news?
Also, we may have to bring back Sean now, which most fans would be happy with.

Frank still has Brooke, Boone, Swift, Najera, along with Anderson and Hassell if he wants to go small and...Frank likes to play small. He has put those two at the 4 a few times.
Might I also ask why do you think Yi's overrated?

I actually want them to move boone in the starting position with Brooke. I think that would become our most effective starting line up this year. Only problem is we need some back up centers.

This is crappy news at best.
Just when the guy has finally started to come out of his shell, bam, injury city.
At least it's only a broken finger, but he's still gonna miss a month or so.
Well, although I doubt it, maybe Ryan anderson gets a shot at big minutes and I assume we will get to see a big defensive starting lineup as well, with Boone and Lopez although knowing Opie, he will probably put Jarvis at the 2, move Vince to the 3 and start Simmons at the 4. Yuck.

oh and btw Yi is not overrated at all. This guys probably top 5 most talented YOUNG power forwards right now. he is a 7 footer, very quick, mobile, and athletic for his size. has great soft touch around the rim. His main problem is his confidence and his strength. Everyone sees this guy as a young Dirk Nowitski but I see him more of a Chris Bosh once he matures and become confident in his game.

wow no reason to hate on Yi like this at all. He was finally looking to make that next step in the past couple of games and now hes out for 4 weeks. this blows.

you can tell everyone in your section, they have no patience what so ever...w. the NBA experience we're talking about w. Yi, its going to be a slow process especially making the transition from overseas ball...
its ironic he break his pinkie on alley-oop...his game was starting to pick up again, along with his confidence and playing some aggressive basketball...
this really slows his progression...and will only delay it more...

What a terrible time for this to happen. Not like any other time would have been better...
Everyone on our team has to step up now.

How is your shotgun collection Jay?
I can see this become a sharks vs. jets thing with nets fans. the Yuck Fi's vs Yi Faithfuls.
Honestly, give the guy credit when credit is due. 17 and 7 over the last 4 games is better than just OK for a 2nd year player with the weight of basically a billion people on his shoulders.

True.
Ever visit the Bucks board?
The game thread was open season on Yi.
Some of the comments were priceless though.
Definitely a lot of sig worthy stuff.
BTW, they are calling Brook Lopez Bull from Night Court.
So true, so true.

For the record, he broke it when he attempted to steal the ball from Redd soon after the alley oop.
BTW, that alley-oop felt SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD against the Milwaukee after the fans had booed him.

I visited their forum last night. Their fans are a miserable bunch. They regretted passing over Brook at #8 in the last draft. The trashing on Brook is pure sour grapes. They are jealous of our success in rebuilding. They discussed how to do what we have done with only Bogut being untouchable – unfortunately, none of their touchable guys, including Redd & RJ, has good trading value. I pity these Bucks fans.

Yeah, the board is almost a 50-50 split, with some slurping Brook and the others saying he is literally no better than Gadzuric.
Most of them say he looks to be no more than a mediocre career backup, also saying he can't even sniff the crunch of Bogut's current production and potential.
Now although I agree that Bogut is HIGHLY underrated by fans of any other team, I just find it comical.
I am pretty sure if they drafted him he would be heralded as the next Duncan instead of the Wilt Chamberlain humor comparison.
Overall there are a lot of very funny posters on their board though and none of them are really pricks, just some are a little blind or like to ignore anything that weakens their argument.

The only thing Gadzuric is better than Brook at is at being worse than him.

really...I thought he looked down at his hand immediately after he dunked the ball...

I've been watching Yi closely this season because he's in my fantasy team and this is really sad. It's obvious that he's talented. He's been scoring in double digits often, he rebounds well, he can shoot 3s, he can even make some blocks every now and then and he can create matchup problems with his range. If he finds consistency, he'll be a border line all-star.
Anyway.. who do I pick up now? Najera? Hayes? Mr.Anderson? Who do you think is going to get Yi's 20-30 mins ?

its going to be spread around...look for maybe Hayes minutes to go up...CDR is probably going to get some run, with a Mr. Anderson sighting...

Jerseyjac, now that you mention it, I seem to remember seeing him doing that. In that case, I think your explanation is more plausible that the official one.
