I was thinking about this yesterday.

How much influence does the assistant coach really have?

As much as I dont like Hill, how much influence does this guy really have as an assistant?

Though he may not be considered successful, The guy coached Shaq, Howard, and SAR.

Though Shaq was a beast then, the game plan was simple. Post up Shaq and wait for the double team. Then you have one of my favorite players Dennis"3D" Scott and Nick Anderson waiting for the ball behind the 3 pt line. Penny was the second option. They made it to the Finals. They would have made it back if Shaq didnt want to leave to a bigger market.

Then Hill coached Howard. That didnt go well but I think the same strategy worked. Give Howard the ball.

Then there was the grizzlies. Young guys that werent successful but one thing was certain. SAR was in the post and he scored 20/10. Bibby got his points and assists.

Now back to my original question - What does Hill do? Does he give Frank advice? Does he say - YO! Give the ball to Lopez in the block? How about giving the ball to Lopez and having him pass out of the Double team. WE have SHOOTERS that can hit shots!!!!!!

I agree with SIC. Not sure what Hill actually does when Frank is in charge. From my view, it seems like Frank runs what he wants and it's his way or the highway. Still remember that game a few years back, when I think it was Pat Sullivan tried to give Frank advice and the camera was on them at the time and you could read Frank's lips and he said "STFU"

I also agree we have pretty decent shooters as it is now. Hayes, VC, Najera, Anderson -- even Harris. We're not utilizing the players the right way, besides Harris, one of the major gripes I've had with Frank.

We have two guys in the top 15 in 3pt shooting %.

Then we have two other guys the are not too far behind avg. 39% from 3.

their job is to agree w/ the head coach...

I have a feeling Opie listens to a certain extent...but he has his issues...

They're yes-men...and not in the way Marv is a YES!-man, but more of a Jim Carrey type...except the assistants can say no. Was that the plot of that movie? I'm not sure.
