Sixers fan here in peace with a question...

Post#1 » by 51X3RF4N » Sat Feb 14, 2009 6:47 am

I realize you guys wouldnt really consider a trade with the Sixers for various reasons; however, I was wondering what it would take on our part to somehow get Lopez from you guys.

Ideally, as a Sixer fan, I'd like to see this lineup:

Lopez/Jason Smith
Speights/Brand(off the bench I know)
Thad Young/ SF depth
SG/ SG Depth
PG/LouWill

I'm really not considering Iggy as the starting SG. He probably will be for years, but I'm thinking to get a guy like Lopez, Andre would have to be involved. And I'm assuming Miller walks at year end and we need a PG.

So really, Iggy, Dalembert, Willie Green, Kareem Rush, Andre Miller, Reggie Evans...I know not all desirable....but they would be the players I'd trade in an attempt to give you what you are looking for and try to steal Lopez from you.

What are your thoughts on the guy? Would you give him up with another player for Iggy/Daly combo??

Thanks for the insights!

As of now, Brook and Devin are untouchable.

Thanks so much for those insightful responses. You guys really know your stuff. Lol.

So Iggy and a 1st is not worth Lopez and a filler?

Unfortunately no man. I like Iggy. I think he would be solid playing next to Vince. Guys like Brook don't come around every day. Adding Iggy would end our chances at any decent big man looking for a nice contract in 2010. Our organization has tried the "Big 3" at the 1, 2 and 3. We're moving to a more balanced game now, so I'm pretty sure our management would be irrational with trade demands. We'd be like "Iggy/Williams/Speights for Simmons/Najera/Lopez." Trust us you wouldn't get fair value. Speights will be legit if you guys just stay patient though. You guys are just going through a rough time right now.

as stated, these guys are untouchable...we have our PG and C positions set of for the immediate future...Only Allstar names will be considered for these guys...I like Iggy a lot, but we are very comfortable calling Harris and Lopez cornerstones at this point and are very interested in seeing them develop together...

Well put. One other thing to consider is that this trade would take us out of the 2010/11 free agency race. I'm not saying that's an automatic deal breaker, but I'm not blowing that free agency opportunity if it's a trade that costs them any of the current Big 3 (Carter, Harris and Lopez).
