Marcus Williams to be Waived

Williams out
The Warriors are in the process of waiving seldom-used point guard Marcus Williams, but the paperwork wasn't finalized by the end of the day.
The Warriors acquired Williams for a first-round draft pick in July, but he played in just nine games for a total of 54 minutes.
When asked what didn't work with Williams, Nelson replied: "Everything."
"It just wasn't a good fit," Nelson said. "I like him very much. It was a really tough situation and he was a model citizen. He worked hard and was a pleasure to be around. His style just wasn't my style. He's better in the half-court."

Also, in case you are wondering which pick you may be getting as part of this deal...
Here’s how it’ll work: If the Warriors make the playoffs in 2011, the Nets will get their first-round pick that year. If not, they’d get the pick the next season as long as the Warriors aren’t picking in the top 11. If it doesn’t happen that year, the Nets will get the Warriors top pick in 2013, as long as it’s not pick 1 through 10. If the Nets get none of those picks, they’d instead get Golden State’s second-round picks in 2013 and 2015.

I'd like to have him back but i doubt it happens.I still don't understand why we traded him when we needed a 3rd pg.I hate giving up on players we draft. He would've got twice the playing time here that he got in GS.Now he's out of the league, maybe OKC will pick him up that would be a nice fit for him since he can't play on a playoff team anyway.

All M.W needs is a chance he definately got the rough end of the stick in this league, Frank never gave him a chance and Nelson is an idiot.
He should try out for Miami they can definately use him.
He has all the talent in the world and just needs a chance to show it.
Thorn was once again desplaying just how brilliant he is by getting a 1st round pick for him though.

Maybe I'm just that low on the guy. I disliked him even on UConn. I didn't think he had the strength or focus to be a starting PG in the NBA. I wanted Jordan Farmar still even when Marcus fell to us. That kid would have been the perfect back up to Kidd, plus he works his tail off.

I have no problem bring him back.
I always like him. Like most young players on this team, Frank doesnt know how to use him.
He maybe lazy but put in the right situation like most of the guys on this team, he can be successful.
This team is PG dominant, even though I disagree with this offense. Pick and roll/Pop/Drive that is the game plan. MWill is very good at that.
IMO Nets have nothing to lose by getting him back. I would do it just to piss Frank off. We need a 3rd PG. If thorn and Kiki think it is a good idea they will do it.

I think he received Frank's rookie/new player that isn't a star treatment the hardest. One simple mistake and the guy would see the bench for weeks. When Kidd left, he had a good stretch taking over until Harris was ready to play since he knew the team had little options. I think he was just unhappy in GS. Get him back here with VC and Boone and his spirits might lift. I still think with his court vision and above average playmaking skills (For his age), he could be someone in this league.

I don't think so. I believe, though I'm not sure, that you had to be signed before March 1st. I still say we should pick him up.

I believe that the rule is you have to be released before March 1st. So even if you didn't sign by March 1, you'd still have a chance. This obviously doesn't apply to Marcus anyway.
