The Nets aren't my favorite team, but I became a fan due to VC and I live in NY, and I obviously realize that most of us want to see Frank gone at some point. But realistically speaking, what do you guys think it would take for Frank to finally get fired? How much longer do you guys think he has a pass? There have probably been numerous threads about this issue, so sorry for being repetitive.

His coaching has been questionable for years, and this season especially. Obviously there are the obvious issues like Lopez touches and small ball, but this team has NO disciple at all. I can honestly say that the Nets are probably in the top 5 for worst shot selection in the NBA, led by Carter and Harris especially. He's also made very questionable decisions defensively, like having Hayes on top scorers in clutch time recently.

Realistically, what is it actually going to take in your opinions? This team would really be better off.

I think he has a complete free pass for this season and likely next, I believe that is the last of his contract. I don't think Thorn will fire him unless a guy is available that he can't pass on, especially consideringg the money this franchise loses year by year.

He's going to be here for the rest of his contract.

As much as he's hated on he's done a good job this year, the Nets are overachieving and a number of fans want to fire the coach... Go figure.

he hasnt done ish this year, the nets are winning because of the product they have not through frank's coaching...

I can't disagree more with this statement.

How are the Net's overachieving?
Because a bunch of media hacks who usually don't get anything alse right besides the most obvious predicted us to go the route of the Wizards?

I mean even I didn't expect the playoffs or an above .500 record before the season started, I believe I was predicting something in the mid 30's, but things change.
It turned out we got a rookie that should have been top 4 in this draft if not higher.
It turns out Devin went from really solid to an absolute stud, allstar, top 6 or 7 point guard.
It turns out the team really gelled and we have a pretty legitimate bench.
It turned out VC, although very inconsistent, has played at a definite allstar level pretty much all season.

I am not expecting a contender or some juggernaut.
But, I mean an actual good coach would have got this team in the playoffs with 40 to maybe 44 wins.

A good coach would have built off some of those really good wins and kept up the level of play for extended periods.
A good coach doesn't lose to teams that are inferior to his team multiple times at home over the course of the season, especially after the team was playing at a high level.

And a good coach DOES expect to win certain games against certain teams, such as GS lastnight or the Wizards twice at home. He doesn't take those teams for granted, but he does not place built in excuses and disclaimers to chalk it off to a learnign experience when and if the loss happens.

A good coach does not continually have his team fail in 3rd quarters over HIS ENTIRE TENURE, including numerous different personell and changes to his roster, from his stars to his bench and role players.

I am sorry, but this team has always and will continue to underachieve no matter what players we have until this bumb is fired.

Sure there are worse coaches in the league, but what the @#&% kind of &*#@ is that?

Whose decision was it to run the unconventional DDMO at the NBA level? L-Frank baby!

Frank has his flaws but give credit where credit is due he has given EVERYBODY a chance this year, and has the team performing well beyond everyone's expectations.

Hate him or love him Frank is hear until his contract is up. Book it.

LOL... You can't say a coach or the whole team overachieved for one just one persons accomplishments esp. when most people think it's that persons break-out year (Harris) or a rookie that has lots of potential and was very good in college, even Rod is not surprised about what Brook can do... so please, everybody, stop giving him credit.

There's a lot of reasons why people think Frank is not a good coach, Boone had one good season and after that he's looking like a depressed player on the court esp. this year. How come all of a sudden SWill is better than Boone? How come VC takes a lot of bad shots? DNP for Anderson? As far as im concerned, Anderson showed that he can play and he hustles better than Simmons and Yi, he played better than everybody his last game, with the exception of Harris. However, there were good times with Frank, all the Frank supporters here said it all and most of you are right BUT do not OVERRATE the good thing he has done because the good did not overpower the bad, it was still more of a disappointing year just plainly because this team showed that they can do more and better but it just needed that extra boost, that extra spirit like what other great coaches have, that greatness.

hands down if brook lopez was playing for a coach that gave him the amount of touches he deserves hed be the unanimous rookie of the year. he has avergaes of about 12 and 8, pretty solid for a rookie center. but if he was on a team that actually ran plays for him hed easily be in the 22 and 12 range. im not sure how getting him more touches would increase his rebounds, but it makes my theory look better

As for Frank,

I hate when people say that Frank has some sort of HAND in the development of players on this team.

Harris
Yeah Frank changed the offense to accommodate Harris. But HE is the PG on this team. Harris wasnt a bad player before he became a Net. Why do you think Thorn wanted him in the deal? The only difference now is that Harris has been assigned to main GUY status. On Dallas Dirk was the main man. Then came Howard, then Terry and even Stack was before him. So he comes to a team where they ship RJ leaving either him or VC to become the main man. So Frank says YOU are the guy, Harris. What a choice. Young PG or Aging Star. Knowing Frank he probably did - ENIE, MENIE, MINIE, MOE.

Do you actually think Frank has some input on this GUY's Development? The guy runs Picks and Rolls with him!!!! LOL!!!!
Give the Kid credit. He was pass on 9 times. Dont you think some of the GMs that passed on him arent kicking themselves. The Kid is going to be a monster. He has a lot of talent. Yeah HE is ruff around the edges but Frank doesnt even realize what he can really become.

Yeah he is a knucklehead. But like I said in the beginning of the year, he is going to be better then BOONE. No one wanted to hear it. "Boone was working on this jump shot and low post game." That was BS. All summer we were hearing how good SWILL was. He improved. Of course the Kid was going to lose it. All summer he is getting praise. The season starts FRANK doesnt give him PT. I would be pissed. I wouldnt have gotten mad but I would be thinking in my head I WISH THEY DONT EXTEND ME TOO. Frank is a confidence KILLER. That said it brings me to:

BOONE AND ANDERSON and CDR
Thank God Anderson has a head on his shoulder. Frank has killed these guys confidence. I think out of all of them Frank is playing a very bad game with BOONE. The guy is a back up Center. Lopez gets into foul Trouble or needs a few minutes rest, put Boone in there along side Swill. It worked last year why not now. Anderson has done everything we expected from a Rookie. I dont know what more Frank is looking for from him to get him some PT. CDR I can understand why he isnt getting PT. We are SG/SF heavy, but Frank has to handle him differently. The kid can score. Dont pull him not when you makes a mistake. I see MWill all over again here.

BENCH
I must say Frank is lucky to have a deep Bench this year. But my question here is why all of a sudden is Hassel a perfect role player. This reminds me of Boki the year after he joined the Nets. Frank once again not having confidence in his players early.

Anyway, I can go on and on.

I just can't justify firing him this year + don't see the point in doing so (who would the Nets hire?)

Why look at things rationally when you can blame the coach for all of it?

Then, that's all you have to say. You don't have to pretend like you don't want him fired because most of us do, maybe, the only people that's oppose to that are Frank's friends and families. It feels like we have given him enough time to see what he can do but it's just not working out, it's time for a change, a different voice. I understand that, probably, it's going to be non-sense to replace him now and who, but, you know what, I DON'T REALLY CARE anymore. I couldn't care less if it's Brian Hill (who is worse) or even any high school basketball coach, JUST GET HIM OUT NOW!!!

I agree with you that Hill isnt good, but can he be worse then Frank.

At least Hill has some experience coaching a Big Man, Shaq, Howard, and SAR. Frank doesnt understand this concept of LOW POST. Yeah before this year we were a G/SF offense but now we finally have a Low post Offensive player. There is no reason to deny that until the offseason. This is Franks excuse every year. We have new pieces. We need a new offense. Then people give him excuses because he is implementing a new OFFENSIVE system. We under achieve for the first few months only to finish the season with a below .500 record.

Start training camp early FRANK. NOW!!!! New offense as of this week is PASS THE BALL TO LOPEZ in THE POST.

If the Nets fire Frank and replace him with Brian Hill I might die.

Dont worry we will remember you, Nets Force.

I hope they dont replace him with Hill during the off season. Now I have no problem, but for next year, I agree with you.
