David Lee is one of the worst defenders I've seen. Yes he is worse than Yi.

I was at the game with my fiance. I was really surprised how we blew out the Knicks without Devin. This was a really embarassing showing from the Knicks, as the game should have been alot closer then it was. I was very impressed with Brooks all around game. What really impressed me was his eight assist tonight. For a rookie center, no wait, for ANY center to acheive that is a heck of an accomplishment. If I were to nitpick one thing about his game tonight, he didn't seem to aggresive on the boards. Yi Jianlian is just a defensive liability and he should be coming off the bench if we want to make playoffs. Keyon Dooling deserves a gold star for his very solid performance and stepping up his game when we needed him the most. Overall good showing from the Nets and if I were a Knick fan I'd pray to be in a coma and wake up during free agency in 2010.

Can someone please give me a run down of how CDR, Dooling, Lopez went. Also include VC too. Just checked box scores they looked like they had great games. Was CDR mostly garbage time or was it meaningful burn.
Cheers

Kind of weird seeing us with our home jerseys at MSG.

CDR was great. He made quick passes, never overdribbled, always hit the open man, finished strong.... It really was just a fantastic all-around game for him. On D he gave up a few fouls but never got beat in the half-court. He had a few steals from reading the play and also had a block. He played meaningful minutes in the 1st half (great half-time statline) and some in the 2nd half as well.
Lopez was drawn away from the basket a good deal by the Knicks offense so his rebounding totals are a bit low, but his passing was great. The offense was running through him for a large portion of the game. He was passing when doubled and scoring when not. He had some great passes off of post cuts to Dooling, CDR, and Hayes (would be a great play with Harris back). If hockey assists counted Lopez would have something like 15 because a lot of the time he'd draw the double, kick out, and then the ball would be swung for a wide open shot. Great signs for the future in this game, as Lopez showed flashes of being a true 1st option.
VC took the game over with a barrage of 3s and it never got close after that. Some of the shots were ridiculous but he was just on, hitting anything he took. Had some very bad passes, though in that regard the Knicks can be tough to keep turnovers down.
Dooling played an excellent veterans game, letting the other guys shine while playing his role. His points came mostly on jumpers and great cuts to the hoop.
The best thing about the game was the passing on offense. Truly beautiful to finally see a post-centric offense from the Nets.
On another note Yi flashed some things including a 2 handed dunk in some traffic, and a 2 dribble drive to a drop step finish with surprising extension with his left hand.

Disclaimer: I am not trying to be the negative spoiler.
OK, I watched the 1st quarter then left my house, but I am now watching the replay on MSG.
1st, the Nets played very well.
2nd, the Knix looked like a 20 win team.
We moved the ball well and VC hit some crazy shots.
Everyone hit their shots.
We played solid defense, but the Knix settled a lot.
Lopez had a lot of assists, but he telegraphed so many passes, still an absolutley awesome sign, because he showed his potential as a a beast of a center that you CAN run your offense through.
I would have been upset if we didn't beat the D'antoni's, but it was still a really nice blowout.
We are still NOT a playoff team THIS year.
CDR was nice with it and showed me a lot tonight.
WE ARE a playoff team next year as is with simply a good pick in the lotto and this year's experience, and a legit playoff team with at the VERY WORST, 42 wins.
DO NOT GET SOUPED UP TONIGHT THAT WE ARE GONNA MAKE A RUN AND MAKE THE PLAYOFFS THIS SEASON, ALTHOUGH THE FUTURE IS VERY BRIGHT, EVEN WITHOUT A BIG TIME FREE AGENT, AS LONG AS WE KEEP VC OR GET TRUE VALUE FOR HIM AND KEEP BUILDING.
I HAVE NO PROBLEM IF WE KEEP HIM, ESPECIALLY IF DEVIN DISTRIBUTES AND MANAGES BETTER NEXT YEAR AND LETS VC BE TRULY EFFECTIVE.
VC CAN EASILY BE THE BEST 3RD OPTION IN THE LEAGUE IN 2 MORE SEASONS AND BE THAT ONCE STAR VET THAT LEADS THE GUYS VOCALLY AND THROUGH EXAMPLE. THIS TEAM MIGHT JUST HAVE THE RIGHT5 BLEND OF YOUNG STARS AND NASTY AND EVEN ROLE PLAYER VETS.
PLUS WE NEED A REAL DEAL COACH.
Sorry about all the caps, I am little drunk and for some reason thought this post was important.... FIRE FRANKDOT COM

This win is exactly why Im against tanking playoffs or not, establishing a winning culture and discovering what the young guys can really do will do much better than telling them to loose every game on purpose.
