Boki Back?

YES’ “Ask the Announcers” doesn’t often make news, but it did Sunday. Michelle Beadle told Marv Albert she had spoken to Kiki Vandeweghe about Boki Nachbar, currently playing for Dinamo Moscow. Beadle said Vandeweghe told her he’d met with Nachbar in Italy last week and, said Beadle, “Don’t be surprised if Boki comes back to the NBA and comes back as a Net.” Nachbar will be a free agent this summer.
Looks promising, always liked him.

I always liked Boki, but he was so streaky and played horrid defense, I just don't see the minutes for him with the depth we have at the 3, unless Kiki has a big move planned for the offseason.......

BOKI BOKI BOKI!!!
Like vc4pres said, i'm a fan of boki. But who's on the outs next year? I don't know the contract situations. What's a site to use? i hear there's something more accurate than hoopshype.

Great...another SF Frank could put at the 4.
Unless we get rid of Simmons and Hassell, I don't want Boki back next year. Not to mention Najera's still on this team and could see minutes at the 3 along with Anderson (Whom I have spent time over and over again saying I don't like him at the 4). I like Boki, but...we're just logjammed.

Let alone the fact VC can and sometimes does play the 3, plus Hayes and even CDR, on top of the fact we may very well draft another SF. Ugh.

According to shamsports though, we can cut Hassell this summer. That eases pressure a little, but I still wouldn't be up to welcoming Boki back without also cutting Simmons and Najera also.

Just for the great memories I would bring Boki back.
The fact that the guy is also extremley talented also helps.
This is one guy where Frank's obssesion with going small somewhat worked.

Jarvis Hayes is a team option.
Trenton Hassell has an early termination option, which is basically a player option.

As much as I would like Boki back, this is what I am scared of.
As far as Simmons and Hassel, I would rather keep Simmons. I see him as a cap relief but I like his jumper. Two man game with Lopez would be great. I say we keep Hayes and SImmons if we dont trade him for picks or young player.

Kiki scares me, I really have very little confidence in him. Thank God Rod is still steering the ship. Boki belongs in Europe. This is like a step backwards.

Fixed.
Boki had TWO good seasons in the NBA, BOTH directly before new contracts. He is a 6'9 SF who has a career FG% of 40%. That's like Antoine Walker efficiency. Don't get me wrong, Jarvis is NOT that much better, but he is a bit more athletic, a bit better defender, and he won't cost us most of the MLE, which is what I see Thorn and Kiki overpaying for Nachbar's services.
I do not like the sound of this. If I know my franchise, we're going to buy out Hassell (>$2mil), exercise our team option on Hayes (because there's no reason to have he and Nachbar), and pay Bokie more than these two were paid, COMBINED. You think Najera's deal is large-and-in-charge, just wait.
I hate to be negative, but the referenced quote from Kiki really struck a nerve with me. We're going to turn down deals like Swift/Ager for Ridnour/Alexander based on financial concerns, but then watch us this summer; we'll blow our salary wad on a substandard talent like Nachbar, just because he fits our FO's comfort zone. Seriously, it gets oooooooooooooooooooooooold.

I was thinking the irony of a Boki signing would be the fact we let Curly walk for nothing.

I don't know... I don't feel like we need Boki anymore, Hayes is definitely the better player and I don't want anyone not named Demar Derozan cutting into CDR's time.

That's what I hate about this ball club. Regardless of health we let Curly go way to early. But we will try and bring back a streaky (at best) shooter. Sure he does take it strong to the rack but he couldnt guard a locked door with an oozi.
No to Boki! His time has come and gone.
Notice how both Curly and Boki, who signed massive deals in russia are now either back in the nba or looking to get back in.
Not bragging but i said that Russia was a terrible place to play in. I said that in a thread about them going in the first place, An Aussie pro-baller had a terrible experience a couple of years ago.
Cheers
